•CHAPTER EIGHT•
"Are you going to show me around the place, or what?"
"No."
I scoff, something I seem to do more the longer I'm around him.
"And why not?"
Hades sighs, placing down his book. "Because I said no." He continues, speaking to me as if I was five. "N-O. Means no." Gracing me with a quick, false smile, he picks up his book again and proceeds to ignore me.
I need to get his attention somehow. Convince him to show me around.
A thought pops into my head and I take a deep breath, rubbing my suddenly damp hands onto my jeans.
I slowly walk over to him, hoping my walk was sexy enough. I probably looked like a baby calf on heroin.
"Hades," I purr, finally making my way to him.
He doesn't move an inch, not even a twitch of his head. If I didn't see his eyes moving across each page, I would've been convinced he was a statue.
Sheesh. Was I that bad?
I kneel down next to him, placing a hand on his thigh. "Hades," I say again, looking up at him through my lashes.
Almost imperceptibly, I see his hand twitch, and his eyes pause on one part of the page.
"Show me around. I promise I'll be good." I purr, my voice dropping an octave.
I see his jaw clench and he finally turns his head, looking down at me. I feel fear and excitement rush through me at the look in his eyes. It's filled with lust, warning and some darkness I can't put my finger on. His pupils spread, almost coloring his entire eye.
"Samira," he says tauntingly, his deep voice flowing like honey. "Be careful, darling. You don't know what you're getting yourself into."
I swallow, my skin lighting up like a flame. I wouldn't let him win me over with this one.
"Are you sure about that?" I lean forward, my gaze meeting his with a challenge. I slide my hand further up his thigh, hoping that my advances would work.
If possible, his eyes darken even more. Without warning, he stands, simultaneously grabbing me in the process.
My breath rushes out of me when I'm pushed against the wall, not too rough but not gentle.
I gasp when I feel his large hands grip my hips tightly, yanking me towards him.
"I warned you." Is all he says before I feel his lips slant over mine roughly.
The first kiss we had was full of passion, gentle compared to this one. This kiss was full of longing, need and a desperate feel to it. Tingles and sparks spread throughout my body, creating a fire deep within me.
He bites my bottom lip, forcing his tongue into my mouth. Our tongues clash in a wonderful dance, each of us fighting for control. His hand tangles into my hair, balling it into his fist before pulling on it.
