•CHAPTER TWENTY-SEVEN•
The colorful flowers surrounded me, making me feel at home. They reached for me once again, aching to be touched. I gave in, laying my fingers on the soft colorful petals of the extraordinary plants.
Hades watches me curiously, something indecipherable dancing in his eyes. His eyes follow my hand, and how they flowers bend to near me.
"They're so beautiful. I feel at home here." I breathe, shutting my eyes as the sun shines on my face. I focus on the smell of the flowers, that natural scent combined with a slight touch of perfume. Which was undeniably different than in my realm. I never really enjoyed that smell. But this was calling out to me.
A gentle hand grabs mine, interlacing them. Hades kisses my hand, and I smile at the feel of his soft lips touching my skin.
I open my eyes, gazing deeply into his. His blue eyes mimic the light blue flowers, and it was as if they both told the same story. The sun rays curve around Hades' body, creating a contrast to his natural dark hair, aura and clothing. Everything about him screamed evil —or it would— to anyone who didn't understand him like I did.
"Sir!" A panicked voice shouts into the peaceful garden, disrupting the balance.
Hades head snaps up and he furrows his brows, pulling me along with him to Ezio.
I grip Hades hand in mine, looking up at Ezio questioningly. "What? Did something happen?" I glance between the two as they exchanged suspicious gazes.
Hades tenses and his eyes grow into cold, dark blue stones. His presence immediately changes into something more sinister. It even seemed as though the sun dimmed, hiding in fear of the wrath that was to come.
"Get Felix and Desa here." Hades orders, walking by Ezio as he pulls me along with him.
I jog to catch up, trying to match my pace with his as he hurriedly rushes us back in the direction of our chambers.
"Hades! What's going on?"
He ignores my question, choosing to say something completely different instead. "You have to remain in the room until I return. I don't want you giving them a hard time. You're their queen and they have to listen, but don't use your power for this." No longer was his voice soft and gentle as it usually was while he was with me. This time, it was hard and demanding. Leaving no room for argument.
But, I did what I did best. I argued anyways.
"Hades whatever it is, you have to include me. Just as you said! I'm the Queen and the Queen stands by their King."
We arrive at the room, and he opens the door to usher me in before closing it behind him. "Stop. We are not doing this."
A knock sounds at the door, and in walks Felix and Desa. They exchange worried glances with Hades before their eyes fall on me. Desa walks to me, her face an unbreakable tale.
Felix nods at Hades, "We'll watch out for the Queen."
Hades eyes turn to me and I grab his arm, "Involve me. You'll protect me. I know you can." I attempt to sway him one last time, hoping he'd give in.
