•CHAPTER NINETEEN•
"You still want to go out?"
I look up at Felix in surprise. "You're gonna take me?"
He purses his lips, "Hades shouldn't be back until a few hours..and I know how it feels to be trapped...and I'll keep you safe."
I narrow my eyes. "What's the catch?"
He leans down, a gleam in his eye. "The catch is that you'll enjoy this. With all you can. Now let's go. We're wasting time."
I hop up, running over to my converse before sliding them on. "Let's go then!"
I make a start towards the door, but Felix grabs my arm before I make it there. "Slow down. We have to make sure there's no one else around. Now that everyone knows you're the Queen, someone might contact Hades to tell your whereabouts."
"Oh," I breathe, my excitement dying down. Should I do this?
"It'll be fine. They'll listen to me. I'll just say we're going on a trip to the village. It won't be too bad."
I didn't want to be trapped anymore. I left my hometown, to come here in this other realm and be confined to this room. Only allowed to go a few places. I needed to be free and be able to breathe.
"Okay, let's do this."
Felix sends me an approving smirk before walking out the door, beckoning for me to follow.
I stay close to him as we pass by people of the kingdom, and to my surprise, they actually smile at me. Some even bowed their heads in respect.
"See?" Murmured Felix, "They're not so bad."
I roll my eyes, "Or terrified because their King tore off the mans head in front of them!" I nearly screech.
He shushes me as we get closer to the Kingdom doors. We wait for this one man to leave before he takes my hand, marching us up to the doors.
"Felix."
Felix tenses, turning around to the voice.
"Uh, Orien. Yes. Do you need something?"
I hear footsteps shuffle closer and I turn around, my gaze falling on a tall man with red hair and bright green eyes.
"May I ask why the Queen and you are about to leave the premises?"
Felix stands straighter, placing a hand on the small of my back. Orien's eyes narrow at the movement.
"She wanted some air. We won't be going far, don't worry. Isn't there a post you need to be getting to soon?"
His voice gets deeper as power resonates through him, hitting Orien square in the face.
He casts his eyes downwards, "I suppose you're correct. I'll take my leave now." He glances up at me, "Have a nice rest of your day, your highness."
He shuffles away, but not before looking back at me suspiciously.
I mumble a small 'thank you' in his direction before he disappears.
