•CHAPTER THIRTY-ONE•
|Hades|
My dark clothing molds into my body, cloaking me from being seen. The fury that crawled inside of me wanted out; like beasts raging inside of a cage, clawing and growling at those who confined them.
I had a fleeting thought, of who could be involved in the village being attacked. My people being attacked. My Kingdom.
I would have all of their heads. Their souls writhing in the deep pit. And I would be their torturer.
"Amphitrite and Samira are secured." Poseidon nods his head at me, his face stoic.
I nod back at him, glancing at the men surrounding him in their battle clothing.
Felix, Ezio, Orien and my other men flank me, dressed in their armor.
Screams sound outside, grating my ears. We rush out of the palace, making our way to the village.
The smell of burning flesh invades my senses, and the heat of the fire warms my cold body.
Women flee, with their men trying to regain control.
The fire was different. It wasn't ending. The men struggled to put it out as they added water to the flames but they wouldn't die down. They wouldn't disappear.
And only one person could do this. Could have these flames do their own work as they ripped down the village.
A growl sounds deep within my chest and I burst through the flames, walking through them. They burned me slightly but I didn't care. My people were in danger and my beloved needed to stay protected.
"Ezio, grab those who are in need of help. Bring them to Rix immediately."
"My lord!"
I whip my head in the direction of the voice, my anger flaring at what I saw.
Demerius sends me a small smirk, opening his arms. On cue, over a hundred demons...my demons come hurtling down the hill from the dark forest.
The dark lines that was once on their faces is now nonexistent, replaced with hard skin that had to have formed over time. They were like stones, but their sharp teeth remained. And their eyes were pitch white. As if under some kind of control.
I grit my teeth, "Kill them all. I'll take Demerius."
Poseidon gives out orders to his men also, and they all run together towards the onslaught of demons.
I should've known, I thought to myself. I am going to kill him. I am going to make him suffer for laying his filthy hand on my most cherished.
I walk towards him slowly, feeling the moonlight shine on me. Guiding me.
The veins grow on my body, starting at my feet and growing up to my face. I could feel the power surging through me. This darkness is me. It's what feeds me. Directs me.
I smirk at him, oh how I've missed this feeling.
His eyes flash with a quick fear before his eyes turn a deep red, he bares his sharp teeth at me as he pulls out a sword. It had a sharp jagged edge, with markings on the blade itself.
