•CHAPTER ELEVEN•

"Right?! Screw him. Who does he think he is? Running into my-his room like that and kissing me just to say it was a mistake?" I huff, crossing my arms.

Uyate listens closely, tilting his head. He nods and shakes his head at everything. Agreeing and disagreeing with me.

"He's a complete asshole. I honestly just want to go home." I run a hand through my hair frustratedly.

He sighs, "I see you have a dilemma. He'll come around soon. What he did was a huge mistake," I make a face and he holds his hand up, "..because it'll make it harder for him. Way, way harder. I wouldn't be surprised if he showed up again and then again...and again until he couldn't move away. It's hard to fight the bond."

I shake my head, picking at my nails. "It doesn't seem to hard for him. He was with other women."

"Darling, I don't believe he took it far with them. You would've felt it." Disgust spreads through my entire body, and I open my mouth to respond but he holds his hand up, interrupting me again.

"Not like that. It wouldn't have been a pleasant feeling." He chuckles, placing a soft hand on my shoulder before squeezing gently.

Relief flows through me and I sigh, "Thank god."

Sympathy shines through his eyes as he looks me over, "Are you alright? You look..unhealthy."

A laugh filters out of my mouth, "Why, thank you."

"I'm serious," his fatherly eyes turn stern, and he suddenly reminds me of my father. Remorse enters my veins like a rushing river.

"I just haven't been getting much sleep lately. That's all. I'll be fine." I yawn, standing to my feet. "Thanks for listening, old dude." I tease, laughing when he shoots me a deadly look.

I turn, yelling in pain when my face meets a hard chest. Sparks run through my body, hitting my toes.

I hold my nose, taking a few steps back. "Watch where you're going!" I snap, narrowing my eyes at him.

Concern greets his eyes before it disappears. He crosses his arms, standing up straighter. "If I am not mistaken—and I'm not— you should watch where you're going. You ran into me."

I sniff, pulling my hand back to check for blood. "Whatever." I mutter, letting my hand drop before brushing by him.

"Wait."

I pause, my hand hovering over the knob of the door.

"I have assigned someone else to you. Someone who won't make you laugh, smile or feel things I can't." A sardonic tone slithers into his words.

I whip around. "What did you do?"

His light blue eyes glint and he smirks, feigning nonchalance. But I could see right through him. There was a fire lit behind those baby blues of his.

He sticks his hands into his suit pants, and I have to fight against everything in me to not stare. His muscles tense with every movement he made, and I almost drooled at the sight of the veins running through his forearms.
