•CHAPTER FORTY-SEVEN•
I chuckle darkly, holding my hands behind my back. As if to restrain myself from attacking my weak-minded kin.
Poseidon watches me carefully, holding his hands together in front of him as Zeus rests a hand on his shoulder. "I've asked our dear brother here to come in today, because I just wanted it to be like old times."
He glances over at the councilmen, something flaring in his eyes.
Achaeus smiles, his black eyes falling on me. "I hear that a mortal has taken place of the Queen of the Underworld." He crosses his legs, "What? Persephone didn't fit and you had to get some rodent off the st-"
I rush him, only being stopped a few centimeters from his face. "Don't," I fume, my voice deepening, "..speak about her."
I shake off the hands of my brothers, turning to leave. "We're finished here."
Suddenly, my vision distorts and my blood rushes to my ears, a steady pulsation through my body.
My gums begin to ache, my teeth sharpening into points as the lines on my skin appear, telling me a story.
I hiss at the pain, the anger that suddenly rushed through me.
"Hades!" I hear a screech, causing me to cover my head in pain.
"Samira?" I pant, my hands raveling into fists.
Poseidon takes a step towards me, his green eyes widening.
Zeus looks on in astonishment, a wicked smile growing on his face. "It's stronger than I thought."
The pain fades but the anger stays, and I stand to my full height, grateful for being a couple inches taller than my brothers.
"What is?" I growl, feeling the black seep into my eyes and deep into my irises.
Zeus smirks, "Your bond. This is perfect," he laughs, a crazed look in his eye.
In two seconds, I have him pressed against the wall, my forearm pushing into his windpipe.
"What did you do?" My voice comes out soft, deadly. In the pit of my stomach, a burning feeling arises. One of intense anxiety, one of dread.
"Oh, what I've been wanting to do since you became a god," he leans in closer to me, his eyes turning completely white, "...destroy you."
And there was only one known way he'd be able to do that.
I snarl, sharpened nails growing from my hands. I wrap my hand around his throat, the lines on my skin tracing a line down my arm and seeping into his skin.
He gasps, the whites of his eyes growing. He brings up a hand, latching it onto my arm.
"That's enough, Hades. In a few seconds you will find yourself on the floor, possibly dying of poison." Achaeus grunts, his voice sounding closer to me. I knew he and the other councilmen had gotten up, preparing for their leave.
A hand lands on my shoulder. "Don't they tell humans nowadays not to accept drinks from strangers?"
Suddenly my body goes numb, as if commanded to turn into stone. I hiss, feeling sharp, stinging pains spreading up through my body.
