P1 Adoption

Sorry if the next couple chapters are a bit short I'm starting to write a new story. I want to finish it before I start uploading though.

"Are you sure we're ready?" You said to Helena as you began getting ready for bed.

"Yes, I've told you a million times. We're ready!" Helena responded putting on her pyjama bottoms. "We did a great job with those kittens"

"Hellie those were cats. A child is different" You said with a small giggle "besides were only in our 20s, we're still young."

"(Y/n)," Helena said pulling you in close "trust me, we're ready. And were almost in are 30s any way."

"Oh god don't remind me, we'll talk more in the morning, I'm tired." You said snuggling down into bed next to your wife.

"Love you."

"Love you too"

~~~~~~ 2 weeks later ~~~~~~

"Hello, what's your name mr?" Helena said to the young boy sitting in front of them, he must have been around 3.

"James!" He said with a toothy grin.

James was adorable, his curly hair look just like Helena's and his eyes matched yours.

"Are you gonna be my mommies?" He asked looking up at the pair of you with wide eyes.

"Well that's the plan James." You said squatting to reach eye level. "hopefully yes."

"Hello ladies!" A woman walked in holding several forms. Her tight bun seem a bit frazzled due to a no doubt busy day.

"Sorry to keep you waiting, although bonding time is very good we need to keep going!" She add as she hurried to sit down.

"Right first order of business is arranging a house visit, just to see that everything is in order." She spoke between sharp in takes of breath. "Then next appointment you'll give payment for the services, and then the adoption document can be signed."

The conversation went on for a while and ever so often the lady would rush off again busy with other work.

However you were soon out of there with a good bye hug from James, several how to parent guides and a date for your home inspection.

~~~~~~ next week ~~~~~~

"MOMMIES!" James yelled as he jumped into your arms! "Is we go home?"

"Yes we are going home!" Helena said while giving him a quick tickle. "Why don't you come with me to the car while mom checks out, huh?"

"Okie!"

You handed James over to Helena before making you way over to the front desk.

"Hello, Bonham Carter is signing out for the last time." You said happily. You couldn't wait to get home with the new addition to your family.

"Uhhg aren't you two those lesbians? No offence or anything but that boy should have a farther." The receptionist said with a sneer.

"What?" You were taken aback to say the least.

"You heard me, I can't stop your kind for taking kids but doesn't mean I agree with it. Turn him gay that's what you'll do."

"I'd like to sign out" you said again trying to be strong. It was hard when all you wanted to do was cry. 'But what does she know, Helena and I will be amazing parents!'

"James is all buckled in, What's wrong sweetie?" Helena asked upon seeing you visibly upset.

"Oh the receptionist was just being..." You hesitated not knowing how to say it. "She just said that we shouldn't be able to adopt because you know we're... two women."

Helena stormed off back into the adoption centre before you could raise a hand to stop her. Not that you wanted to.

When she came back out she had a smug look on her face. "Guess who just got fired?" She laugh before getting into the car and soon you were off on the long drive back home.

"Mommies?" James said from the back

"Yes honey?"

"How long? I need to pee!"

You and Helena looked at each other, it was another 30 minutes before the next pit stop.
