Nobody Compares Chapter 6

Skylar winced in pain. She'd been shot just like his father. Blood on her clothes, on her bed sheets and now on Jeffrey as he tried to help her. It all happened so fast.

"Jeffrey." She whimpered

"You're going to be alright." He said reassuringly as tears rolled down his face. He might lose his dad and now Skylar? Two important people in his life for the same reason in less than a week.

"Jeffrey" Skylar said again.

All of a sudden Jeffrey is awoken at 3 in the morning by the sound of Skylar saying his name and shaking him. He was relieved to know it was just a dream.

"Are you okay!?" Skylar asked

"Yeah! Just a stupid bad dream, that's it."

"You sure?"

"Yeah. He, can we just cuddle for a while?"

"Yeah!"

"Can I call you Sky? I know it sounds dumb but it's just everyone calls you Skylar and I want to give you a nickname" Jeffrey asked as he wrapped his arms around Skylar.

"Yeah. I actually like that a lot better."

"Okay"

"Hey what was your dream about?"

"Don't worry about it. Just get some rest, Sky" he said exaggerating her name and not wanting it to keep her up all night.

"Okay! Goodnight!" Sky said as she buried her face in Jeffrey's chest

"Goodnight, beautiful. I just want you to know that I really care for you." He said.

"I really care for you too. I don't think I've ever felt this way about anyone before."

"Felt like what?"

"Don't worry about it. Goodnight!" She teased.

"Whatever. Night!" This time he kissed her forehead.

The next morning

Sky and Jeffrey walk in the kitchen to find breakfast and both of her parents giving them an odd look.

"Well I bet you too slept really good last night, didn't you!" Skylar's mom said.

"Mom, it's not what it looks like. He had a bad dream and it was pretty bad so to make him feel better I let him sleep with me." Skylar said as she turned red.

"I know I'm just kidding. I know you two wouldn't do anything serious. Not yet at least"

"Oh god..." Skylar said in embarrassment.

As they sat down to eat breakfast, Sky's dad informed them that Jeffrey's dad was improving a lot and he has a ninety percent chance that he'll survive but he's still not taking visitors until he's conscious.

After they finished their breakfast,

Skylar went up and took a shower and so did Jeffrey but in a different bathroom. Of course Jeffrey finished his shower first so he just waited in Sky's room. After she finished her shower, they went down to the living room to watch Netflix. They watched 'LOL' with Miley Cyrus in it. It was Sky's favorite on Netflix.

"Sky?"

"Yeah?"

"Do you know what we should do tonight?"

"What?"

"We should go to the spring fair. They have one every year during spring break. It'll be fun. I promise."

"Sure. That sounds really fun to be honest. Especially going with you." She said smiling.
