Nobody Compares Chapter 7

The fair was beautiful. Nothing compared to anything Skylar's seen in Washington. They met up with Jeffrey's friends and rode a few rides. After a while, everyone separated and now it was just Jeffrey and Sky together in the semi-crowded fair. They waited in what seemed the longest line ever for the Ferris Wheel.

As the night grew on darker, it also got colder. Skylar forgot to bring a sweatshirt so she rubbed her arms for warmth.

"You cold?" Jeffrey asked?

"Yeah just a little bit. Im fine though."

Jeffrey takes off his hoodie and hands it to Skylar.

"No I don't want you to be cold." Sky insisted.

"I won't be cold. I just don't want to get you sick. Just take it. For me, please. I won't be happy until I know you're warm." Jeffrey pleaded

"Fine." Sky said as she put on the oversized hoodie.

"So do you wanna tell me about your dream last night. It seemed to really scare you"

Jeffrey thought about it and decided that he might as well tell her.

Jeffrey grabbed Sky's hand.

"In my dream, you we're shot and you were dying." He said without emotion

"Well you're pretty straight forward" She said wanting to laugh but she didn't because she knew it would make him upset. So she just hugged him instead.

"So do you wanna tell me what you meant when you said you don't think you ever felt this way about anyone before?" Jeffrey asked.

"Uh well I guess it meant that I really care for you. And I can't say that I love you because I haven't even known you that long. All I really know is that I like you a lot." She said trying to put it in the most simplest way possible

"I like you too. Instead of saying 'i love you', let's just say 'I like you.' And after a couple of months and it turns out that we still like each other, we can say 'i love you' " Jeffrey suggested.

"Okay! I like you." Sky giggled as she over exaggerated.

"I like you too" and they got back to hugging each other.

As the line got shorter and shorter, it was finally their turn to get on. It was beautiful when they got to the top. All of the lights, everything. Their hands were still interlocked.

"Hey can I ask you something?" Jeffrey asked

"Yeah go ahead."

Jeffrey looked Skylar in the eyes. His face turning bright red and then he finally busted out the question.
