Where are we? Chapter 28

After about ten minutes of walking in the dark, Skylar spoke up.

"Jeff.."

"What's wrong?"

"I'm scared. Where are we?

"It's really hard to tell in the dark but don't be scared, I'll be right by your side, protecting you the whole time." He said kissing her forehead.

Every time they heard a noise, Sky jumped. She had a really bad vibe about being outside late at night.

"Jeffrey, I wanna go home."

"Okay. Uhm let's see.."

"What?"

"Do you remember how to get home?"

"No.. Oh my god, Jeffrey please tell me this is a joke."

"No I'm being dead serious."

"Oh my god.."

Then, a car showed up out of no where. Sky got closer to Jeffrey.

"It's just a car." Jeffrey said trying to reassure her that she was okay.

The car was driving slowly, it seemed to be following them.

"Jeffrey, that car is following us." She whispered.

"Get out your phone and pretend you're calling someone. Keep looking back at the car while you're pretending to talk. They'll go away."

Sky got out her phone and looked back at the car every so often.

"It's not working, Jeffrey! They're still following us!"

Jeffrey grabbed Sky's hand and started running. The car drove faster to keep up with them.

"Jeffrey, I can't run anymore, I have asthma and I don't have my inhaler." Sky said gasping for breath.

"Get on my back."

Sky got on his back and he started running. The car drove right next to them and then rolled down their windows.

"Get in the car, I have candy and wifi!"

It was only their parents.

"You scared us!" Sky said wanting to cry.

"And you scared us when you weren't to be found in your room." Sky's mom said.

"As well as Jeffrey!" Jeffrey's dad said.

"What are you guys doing out this late anyways?" Jeffrey's mom asked.

"We couldn't sleep so we decided to go for a walk." Jeffrey answered as they both got in the car.

"Uhm, no you decided to go for a walk and dragged me along with you!"

Jeffrey just laughed.

"You two are in trouble!" Sky's dad said.

"Sorry?" Sky said.

"We were dead worried about you!" Jeffrey's mom said.

"Sorry, we should have told you guys." Jeffrey said.

"I'm starting to think about not letting you go to California with Jeffrey!" Sky's mom said.

"That's so not fair!" Skylar said.

"What's not fair is you both running off like this in the middle of the night without letting us know!" Skylar's mom said.

"Please let me go. I'll do anything."

"Give me your phone for a whole month."

"That's too long! How am I supposed to contact Jeffrey when he's gone?" Sky complained.

"You'll live."

Sky just groaned.

When they got back to their houses, Jeffrey and Skylar stood out there talking for like five minutes.

"Hope you have fun on the tour." Sky said placing her forehead on his.

"I will, but it won't be as much fun as being with you."

"Don't make me cry." She said forcing a smile.

"You got one more minute before you have to come inside, Skylar Marie!" Sky's mom shouted. She was still mad at them both.

"Hey, I love you. It's only a month, then I'll be back, and you'll be in my arms."

"Okay." Sky said. By that time, tears were streaming down her face.

"Don't cry." He said while wiping the tears off her face.

She didn't say anything. All she did was bury her face in his shoulder. Jeffrey held her head up and kissed her. The kiss lasted at least ten seconds.

"Time to come inside!" Sky's mom said.

"Bye, stay strong, gorgeous." Jeffrey said kissing her one last time.

"Bye. Have fun."

The next day, Jeffrey had to be ready to go by six AM because it was like a two hour drive and he had to get ready which would take almost all day. He couldn't stop thinking about Skylar so when twelve PM came around, he texted her.

J- Hey, beautiful.

S- thanks for waking me up😫

J-srry. I'll let u go back to sleep.😚

S- no! I miss u!😭

J- yay! Wait, I thought your parents took your phone away?

S- they totally forgot about it!😂 so what r u doing right now? R u all ready?

J- almost. I still have to change but they made me help them set up the stage and chairs😂

S- dang!

J- Ikr.

S- wish u were here.😔

J-I wish I was with u too. I gtg bby girl. Love you!💝

S- love you too! Good luck. Text me when you can😘

Another five hours of setting up and getting ready went by and it was finally time for Jeffrey to open. He got on stage and couldn't believe what he saw.
