"What? No! I broke up with you for a reason! Come on, Skylar. We're leaving."

On their walk back home, it was already dark out. They had been there longer than expected. Skylar was thinking about how Jeffrey said that he liked her. Was it true or was he just saying that to back her off?

"Jeffrey?"

"Yeah?"

"About today.."

"What about it?

"When you said that you like me, was it true or were you just saying that to back Britney off?"

Jeffrey started blushing.

"Uh yeah I meant it. I do like you Skylar. A lot.."

"I like you too."

"You do?"

"Yeah."

While they were walking Jeffrey grabbed Skylar's hand and swung it back and forth. It seemed like the perfect night. Norfolk was beautiful at night. Sky wondered if it was like this in Boston too.

When they made it home, something was wrong. There were cops and an ambulance outside of Jeffrey's house. His mom was sitting on the porch, sobbing and just like that. A perfect night turned into the worst night. Jeffrey runs up to his mom, hugs her and asks her what happened and if everyone is okay.

"I-it's your f-father." She stuttered as tears rolled down her face.

Jeffrey's eyes started to water. It was obvious he was trying to hold in his tears.

"What about d-dad?" He started stuttering.

"Ready to go, Mrs. Miller?" The paramedic asked.

"Yes. Jeffrey t-the police will take you to the h-hospital and they'll explain everything on the w-way."

"Can Skylar come too?" He cried.

"If h-her parents allow it, yes."

Skylar ran to ask her parents if she could go with Jeffrey to support him and his family but they weren't home. They were nowhere to be.
