Ayeee Happy Holidays my dudes! I know that it's super early in the story, but I love Christmas and the cute little stories that come along with it, so why not write one, right? I'm so grateful to have people even reading this story in all its cringyness, and thought that a bit of fluff might be fun. Heather will be in it, since I am way too obsessed with her, so sorry for that. Also, I apologize for the story being kinda boring so far, I never really knew how much my writing dragged until my theater teacher told me when I began writing scripts. Anyways, that's enough about me, so have a wonderful winter, everyone! 💕

Despite it being the third of September, 1940, Miss Peregrine's wards were overenthusiastic to be celebrating Christmas in a week. They took out holiday decorations from the attic, and started to decorate for what would be the strangest Christmas I would ever have.

But, I mean, it's all about who you spend it with, right?

"Wait, I'm confused," Heather said as she walked into the living room. "Wouldn't we lose all of the decorations tomorrow through the loop restarting?"

Emma, with silver tinsel hanging around her neck like a boa, put her hand on Heather's shoulder. "Honey, no one knows how or why anything works here. This stuff stays up for as long as we let it, but the kids believe it's Santa's magic. I don't really care about the science of it all. Just do us all a favor, and never ask Millard that same question."

Emma patted Heather's shoulder with a smile, then wandered off yet again.

"Look out!" Bronwyn yelled as she threw yet another container of Christmas decorations from the top of the stairs.

This may have been the first time I'd ever seen the whole group work together. Horace found a Christmas record, which then played loudly throughout the house. I was currently helping Olive get out of her shoes so she could add Christmas lights onto the roof of the house.

"You okay up there?" I asked my small friend, while adjusting the rope she was tied to.

Because they just had to give me the most stressful job there was, since Olive's life depended on me right then and there. Bronwyn and Victor went out to get a pine tree, and Heather was trusted to make cookies. Emma disappeared mysteriously, and hadn't been seen for two hours. My last encounter with her was with Heather.

"I'm good," Olive chirped from the rooftop. "Actually, could you try giving me some more rope, please?"

After an hour of stressing about Olive, we finished with all of the lights. I helped her get back into her boots, and we chatted as we went back into the house. We talked about Santa (which she strongly believed in) as well as the importance of hot chocolate in the winter, and snow. Olive has never seen real snow before, but one day she would like to have a White Christmas. Poor thing.

Even Miss Peregrine was in a good mood, and wore a decorative green hat over her greying bun. She hummed along to the music, and would help whoever would need it. Hugh has found a bunch of ugly Christmas sweaters, which he tried to get people to wear. The only one who took a sweater was Miss Peregrine, who continued to hold it.

"(Y/N)!" Millard shouted as he saw me. He also was looking quite festive, with an itchy red and green sweater on and some slacks. "You need to come see Enoch's room."

He took my hand and rushed me down a flight of stairs to O'Connor's room. The gesture made my stomach drop, and I hoped Millard couldn't see how flushed my face was. Did he really mean to grab my hand, or was he just excited and hadn't noticed? I mean, it wasn't like I didn't enjoy holding his hand...

I was looking at Millard more than I was looking at the room, and didn't necessarily observe my surroundings until Millard gestured towards it all.
