Chapter 40

Harry’s POV

My phone suddenly begins to vibrate as Ivy talks to me about how she saw these cool shoes on the way here, hinting at me to buy them to her. Thank God someone was taking me out of this for a bit. I bring the phone to my ear without even looking at the screen as I nod to Ivy as if I’m listening.

“One sec.” I mouth to her as I take the call.

“Hello?” I say. No one answers for a few seconds.

“Hello? Is anyone there?” still, no one on speaks, but there is someone there. I can hear them breathing. I keep asking if someone’s there and just before I hang up the phone a velvet voice I know too well speaks.

“Harry?” my face sinks and my heart drops. She was calling, for me? I was so confused and overwhelmed and fuck Ivy is sitting in front of me wondering who it is. I hope she is okay her voice seems quite scared and sad.

“Yeah, it’s me.”

“Are you free to talk?” I panic and look at Ivy, mouthing to her that I need to leave for a personal call outside of the restaurant. She nods and goes on her phone and I fast walk out of the restaurant.

“Yeah, I can talk. Is everything okay?”

“I need to see you, right now.” my heart rate increases a little more than it was. I rub the back of my neck and look back at Ivy. I could probably make an excuse up.

“I am out-“

“Oh, then-“

“but I can get out of it. Where do you want to meet?”

“I’m at a café, I will text you the address. Just, just come right now.”

“Okay.B-“ She hangs up the phone. I miss being in a good place with her. I quickly get into the restaurant and stand in front of Ivy.

“Hey, that was my mum, she said she needs me for something really important and that I have to come now, do you mind if I go. Apparently it’s a big emergency.”

“No, it’s okay, I have to plans after this anyways. Bye babe!” Ivy says, getting up and kissing me on the cheek. I curl my lips, smile and head out. Marine sends me the directions soon after I walk to my car.

I park my car near the café and literally, jog to the front door, were I cool down and walk in chilly. The place was really nice. White brick walls, bagels, coffee. Seemed like a place Marine would be. I look around for her and I find her at a window seat, her head facing her notebook, writing who knows what, her bronze hair tied back so I can see her beautiful, fresh face. Stop it Harry. I slowly walk up to her table.

“Hi.” I say timidly. She quickly looks up, closes her notebook and says,
