>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>So now I was here, in bed. Where else was I supposed to go? My due date was soon and I couldn't move. "Món Chérie, are you hungry? Do you want something to eat? To drink?", he asked. I shook my head. He sat down at the bed and stroked my now big belly.
"So soon, he or she will be here.", he said. "I hope so. I want my body back." He chuckled. "How many kids do you want?", he asked. "I think I have enough with one at the moment." "I think six would be great.", he said thinking. "If you pop them out yourself, then I'd say go for it.", I said.
"Sarcastic as ever, my love. You're beautiful.", he said. "Thank you.", I said, pulling him down to kiss him. Then some harsh pain rushed through me. "Emilia, are you alright?" I was still cramping. "Does it look like I am alright?", I asked. "Emilia, everything will be okay.", Courfeyrac said.
Then I felt something running down my leg. My water broke. My eyes widened. "A, I think the baby's coming." "What? Now? Can't it wait?", he asked panicking. "Please help me.", I begged even more panicking.
"Don't worry my love, everything will be alright.", he said before running into the door, "I totally saw that." I was in pain and now he was too. God I hated this. Courfeyrac came back and lifted me up in bridal style. "I knew I forgot something.", he whispered. "Everything will be alright?" "Everything will be alright."
Soon we reached the hospital. I was taken in immediately. And the torture began.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
11 hours later, I was done. Literally done. I was exhausted and felt weak. I could see Combeferre coming in, holding our baby. "Well hello there. This was very unexpected. But here's your child. Courfeyrac, don't drop it.", he said.
He handed him the baby. Courfeyrac was shocked. He had tears in his eyes. "Merci God. Thank you so much.", he said, looking up, "Emilia, look." He showed me the baby that was inside of me for 9 months. "It's a boy. Grantaire and Joly were right.", I whispered, trying not to wake the boy.
"What should we name him?", he asked. "Matthieu. It means 'Gift from God'", I said. He smiled. "It's a beautiful name. Welcome to France, Matthieu.", he said, kissing his little forehead and then mine.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I was asleep when I heard Matthieu cry. "It's alright. Sleep a little. You need it.", he whispered. I weakly nodded. Then I fell back asleep.
I woke up again when I heard familiar voices. "I need to start writing a poem.", Jehan said. "Good afternoon Madame.", Combeferre greeted, "I see you're awake. How are you doing? Any pain?" I shook my head and yawned. "That's good. Your son is healthy.", he exclaimed.
"I will teach him how to Revolution.", Enjolras said. "Oh no, only over my dead body. You see what happened last time. Do we want that again?", I replied quietly. "I know. But thanks to you, we have a Republic. All we ever wanted.", he said, stroking through my hair.
Courfeyrac sat down beside me and did the same. Courfeyrac handed me Matthieu and I held him in my arms. I was a mother. My precious baby was here. I had my family. Everything I always wanted. Of course, Matthieu is a half french royalty but that didn't matter to us. He wouldn't know and that was good.
(A/N: ahhh yay the baby is born ♡ also my new story will be posted tonight 🎉)
