My father was dead. France was free. I was free. "Emilia, you're free.", Courfeyrac said with tears in his eyes. The Guard bowed. "I will do anything you command me, queen.", he said. "Please don't call me that.", I said.
The Guard bowed once again and left. I sat back down. No one of the boys dared to speak. "Is Emilia coming home now?", Gavroche asked. The boys shrugged.

Madame threw us out of the Café. And I was sat in a carriage. I was deciding what was best for France and I needed to sleep. I arrived in the palace and immediately ran up to my room. I locked the door and sat down.
Things to change in France:
Number one: get rid of the monarchy
Number two: helping starving people
Number three: get the Thenardiers behind barsA knock on the door was heard. "Your majesty, your cousin. He wants to speak with your majesty.", the Guard said. I opened the door and walked to the Grand Hall. And there was my cousin: Emanuel. He was the son of my fathers brother.
"Your majesty.", he bowed. "Emanuel, what an honor to have you back." "I want to speak with you about your kingdom.", he said. "There's no kingdom anymore. I need a mayor. And I found just the right person.", I exclaimed. "And that would be?"
"You. You, my dear cousin, have experience as mayor. France shall be a Republic. My friends fought and some even died for that. I want that.", I said. He nodded. "You are a true queen. I loved my uncle, I did, but he was horrible. He banished me from the French court because I dared to speak of a Republic.", he told me.
"I have a husband. I miss him dearly. I didn't get to see him for 14 years. Today, was the first time I've seen him again. I want a life with him. I want children with him. And I want them to grow up in a Republic.", I said. "I will do what I can. Thank you for trusting me with your country.", he said.
"It's not my country, it's the country of the french people.", I said. "So what are we going to do first?", he asked. "First, we will make sure that the people aren't starving anymore. After that, we will build houses for them to live in. I don't want people to sit in the streets anymore.", I said.
We walked on the balcony and looked down at Paris. "France will be beautiful.", he said. "I know it will.", I said.

That night I left the palace. My cousin was living in it now. We were slowly changing France for the better. I walked to the Café. "Bonsoir, Madame. May I rent a room?", I asked with a smile. "Oh yes, yes you can.", she said hugging me tightly.
I walked up to my room. I could hear laugher. I knew it was my imagination but I didn't care. I was where I belonged. I walked into my room. My bed was made nicely. Everything was free of dust. I lied down in my bed and looked at the ceiling. What if I woke up and all of this was a dream?

I woke up in the Café. I smelled freshly brewed coffee. I was supposed to be here. This was my life. I got up and got dressed into one of my old dresses.
