AKIMATO TENEBRIS
I went into the Guest bedroom and closed the door gently. What just happened?
Did I do something wrong...?
I was only trying to help.
Unless-I didn't help and just made things worse.
When I say that-I really mean made a fool of myself.
I just don't think before I do, do I? Unless I'm in fight of course.
But that's just the way I was trained. Ugh-why do I never learn a damn thing?

The next day wasn't as cold as yesterday. It was actually a really bright morning. I slept incredibly well thanks to Kei's amazing choice in furniture. For some reason I felt like I should make the most of today. I don't know, it was probably just the weather having an affect on my brain or something. Either way, I still wanted to fix the mess I was in no matter what.
After getting changed I was lead downstairs by an interesting smell. Interesting but tasty smell.
To my surprise, Kei had already made a full course breakfast meal for the two of us.
It was a Japanese dish, obviously, but it looked really good. It was actually really impressive.

"Wow, you really know your stuff."

I said taking a seat at the table.
Just then Kei came rushing in from the kitchen. She had an adorable apron wrapped around her body and a bright smile on her face, as usual.

"Ehehe...hope you like Okonomiyaki and Miso soup!"

Wow.
She really does know her stuff. Well what did you expect she's flipping Japanese!

"Never heard of it but I'm definitely willing to give it a try."

She took off her Kawaii apron and sat down with me.
She closed her eyes and put her hands together.

"Thank you for this meal."

I assumed it was part of her culture so I just did the same.

"Wow Kei, this food is amazing."

"You should come over and visit every once in awhile. I'd be fine to cook for you."

"I'll probably take you up on that offer considering the quality of this 5-star meal."

She laughed.

"Now you're just over-exaggerating!"

I really wasn't.
It was great food.
There was a short pause of silence before I spoke up.

"Hey listen, I'm really sorry about what happened last night..."

She put down her knife and fork and started waving her hands at me to stop talking while she finished her mouthful.
She swallowed, hastily.

"No-no. Honestly it was nothing! If anything I should be the one apologising for being such a klutz!"

"I understand if you don't want me around anymore. I...know I got a bit cocky back there...you don't have to be nice."

I sounded like such a loner.
But then again, I kind of was one.

"Akimato! Why would I not want you around anymore! We're friends now aren't we?"

...Friends, huh? Been a while since I heard that word.

"Sure."

I just smiled.
What else was I supposed to do?

After we ate, I told her my home address and she took me back to my neighborhood. It was a way more peaceful walk than the walk was to get here.
We had to take a bus halfway because it was too far.

"Thank you-so much. For everything. I don't know how I can repay you."

I said.

"Honestly it's fine! But-if you really want to repay me, then you can pay me another visit sometime."

Kei said, handing me her number.

"Yeah. Will do."

I took it and put it in my butt pocket. Better not lose that.

"Well-this is it. My house. Hey, wanna come in for a bit? The journey was quite long-"

"No, no don't worry about me. I better be on my way now."

"Oh-ok then."

She smiled once again and we waved bye.
After she left completely I walked into the house, remembering all the drama that had happened.
Great.
Now to deal with it.

"Here goes nothing."

I opened the door and stepped inside, hoping everyone was still asleep or something.

"......"

No one noticed I was here. The house was completely silent.
I turned on the light because all the blinds were down for some reason.

"U-Uh...hello..?"

There was no reply.
