I awake to the annoying buzz of and alarm clock. My hand shoots out to find the switch. I click it off, and slowly, but surly, rise out of bed. "Katie! Get up you lazy bum, you can't take 20 minutes to get out of bed again!!" Calls the annoying voice of my sister, Emily. "Just go get ready for school squirt." I smirk at the nickname I gave her when I was 5. "Don't call me that!" She shrills. I cover my ears. "Alright alright, jeez." She smiles and walks off. Being only a year younger than me, she goes to my school, even though she acts likes she's 4. I roll my eyes and gently touch my ear. I'm almost positive it's permanently damaged. Oh well, just another day in the life of me.

The rest of the morning is pretty uneventful. The usual happens. I get ready for school, tie my hair up as usual, and get on the bus. That's right, I ride the bus, don't judge. My little sister chatters away at me about some random thing while my mind goes into space. That happens every morning. This morning, I was thinking about me. How unfair it is that my older sister Amanda is gorgeous and how Emily is pretty and how I'm... Not.

I thought about it. I wasn't very pretty at all. I had glasses that rested on the bridge of my nose, I had a huge forehead, my lips were too full, I was too tall, shall I go on? There was stuff I was unsure about to. What color was my hair exactly? It's a mix of blonde, dirty blonde, copper, and brown. Not any one color. I had one thing going for me though, my eyes. I couldn't tell if they were blue, green, or a mix, but I had a gold ring around my pupil that made them pop. Other than that, I was completely and utterly... Ordinary. Emily snapped me out of my thoughts. "Hey! Katie!! KATIE!!" "Huh? What? Oh, yes?" "As I was saying..." And repeat process.

I got to my locker and opened it. I shoved my glasses up my nose before I continued. A loud yell scared the heck out of me. "Over here, I'm open!" Oh brother. It was none other than Jake, the schools quarter back. Ugh he rubbed me the wrong way, his cocky smirk, his egotistic personality, being the jerk he was, the way girls looked after him in a lustful way when he walked by. Many have tried, but none have gotten a hold of him. He wasn't hard to get, he was more in the impossible range, because he kept claiming he had football to focus on. Yeah right.

He was running down the hallway tossing, or should I say chucking, a football to one of his teammates. I rolled my eyes, just ignore him and he won't get to you. The yelling got louder as I continued to grab my things. Just shut it and go, just shut it and go, just shut it and...WHAM! Well, I shut it, but right as I turned to go, something hard ran smack into me and took me to the ground. We landed with me sandwhiched in between the floor and the person. As we landed, we smacked heads and cried out. "OW!" The person cried. "Ow is right, what did you..." I looked and my breath hitched. It was Jake.
