I knew I had to text HK. I needed details on her date, plus I had some information to share as well.
Me: You know what we need.
HK: A bunch of chocolate?
Me: No
HK: a big bucket of money?
Me: Um, no.
HK: To rule the world?
Me: Hannah Kate!
HK: Wait, a girls night?
Me: ding ding ding! We have a winner!
HK: I'm so on!
Me: Thank you! Your place?
HK: Yeah sure. But a game is on right now and my brothers....
Me: HANNAH KATE! This is kind of important.
HK: Alright. Fine.
Me: Thank you for seeing what was important.
HK: But you owe me a football game.
Me: DEAL.
I got in my car and drove off. When I got there, her dog was there in the front yard. I got out. "Hey Nova! Heyy!" I was cooing. I scratched the dog until the door opened. "Katie! What are you doing out here?" HK asks. "Petting your dog." Then someone yells from inside the house. "Who's there sis?" She turns around and puts her head inside the door frame. "It's just Katie! To back to your game Matthew!" As he walks away, you here, "She practically lives here man!" Hannah Kate takes off her shoe and chucks it inside, where you hear a big thud. "Ow! Hannah Kate! Why I ought to throw you in the gutter!" She throws her arms out and shouts, "Bring it!" Next thing I know Matthew comes barreling through the door and tackles her. They start fighting on the ground, and Matthew shouts, "Nathan! Help!" While HK goes, "Jonathan! Help me!" And soon all four siblings are squabbling on the ground in their front lawn. This was oddly normal to them, which meant I had to break it up. "Guys! Guys guys guys guys! HEY!" I screamed. I put my arms between the two teams that were formed and pushed them apart. "Nathan! Jonathan! Back off, this isn't your fight!" They put their hands up in surrender and back away slowly. I keep one hand on Hannah Kate's shoulder and the other in the middle of Matthews chest. I push Hannah Kate hard, keeping her out of reach. Putting both hands on Matthew now, I push with all my might to get him back a few inches. Then when I let go, I block his path to his sister. "Matthew! Killing Hannah Kate is not the answer! Back away." He crosses his arms.
"Who's gonna make me?" I grab a stick from the ground and bring it down hard on his arm. "Ow! That really hurts! Quit that!" I continue wailing on him. "That's right! Keep it moving boy! In the house! In the house!" I say, hitting him towards the door. "You too J and N. Go go go! Before I leave a mark on you too!" They scramble into the house, and before they go Matthew say, "You may have won this time, but next time I'll kick your butt!" "Move along!" I shout, bringing my stick down hard on the ground. He ran inside the house, slamming the door as he did so. "Well, that happened." I shrugged. "It always does." She laughs, slinking her arm over my shoulders. "It's a good thing they're scared of you, or else you might of been on the ground as well." I shook my head, putting my arm around her shoulders as well. "Nah, they're not really scared of me. They just know not to mess with me." She laughed. "And that's why we're friends." I giggled. "Come on!" I say, urging her towards the woods. "Oh no! We are not climbing a tree." I stopped dead in my tracks. "What? Pfft... No. That's TOTALLY not where I was going with that. What? Stop asking me questions!" She rolled her eyes. "No matter how hard you try, you will never be good at lying." I scowl, but it quickly turns into a grin.
We were in her room, after being briefly attacked by her brothers resulting in me threatening all three of them. "Sooo... How was your date? Eh.. EH! Tell me!" She laughed. "You will never stop making me laugh. It was great, he was all I had hoped for." My face fell. "Is that all you're going to give me? Come on girl! More detail!" So she proceeded to give me details. Their date went well, it seems to me. She didn't give me many details, I guess she just wanted to keep it to herself. "So... Why did you need this girls day?" I sigh. "Jake thinks I love him." She gasped. "What?! Do you?!" I shrug. "I'm not actually sure. But he isn't either. I don't know how to respond, help me!" She sighed. "It's simple. You're both obviously in a comfortable spot with each other. Just let it happen, see what you both feel in a little bit." I nod. "Thanks girl." She nods. "So... Sleepover?" I chuckle. "I don't know, your brothers might be afraid to sleep under the same roof as me." "They can deal, SLEEPOVER!" I laughed. "I haven't seen you get this excited over a sleepover since you were little." She squeals. "That's because we haven't had one since we were little!"
