Katie's POV
It was the next day at school, and I had left Jake's side to go to class. Once you're in high school, you've pretty much mastered walking the halls, but once you lose control you're a dead man. Me having size 11 feet, this happened quite often. I slid around a person, but then someone slammed into me, making me flail my arms to stay standing. But then some jerk ran into my side, and I caught myself with my hand on the floor. I was in the process of walking away and trying to forget the very moment, when the skis I call feet decided to trip over one another. I slammed right into a familiar blond haired boy. We slammed on the ground, and I saw two brown orbs looking at me. "Jimmy!" I say in recognition. "Katie? What the heck was that?" His southern voice says. "I accidentally fell." He got up and brushed himself off. "I can see that." He reached down and helped me up. I saw why HK liked him, he was really nice and had a great personality. But, I just wasn't into him like that. "Katie?" Speaking of HK. "Hey Hannah Kate!" "Did you just fall on my boyfriend?" I laughed nervously and scratched the back of my neck. "Maybe." She puts her hands in her hips. "Girl, that's the tenth time you've tripped this week!" "Eleven actually. I fell before running into Jimmy. Sorry by the way." I say, turning towards him. "It's ok. Wait eleventh? This week?" I shrug. "Yeah." I saw his face. "Don't judge me! I'm clumsy as all get out." I can tell Hannah Kate is containing her laughter while Jimmy just looks really confused. "I'm just really clumsy ok!" I explain. He nods. "Ah. You know you speak..." "Weird? Yeah, I know." I interrupt. I start forward, but I literally fall over my feet. Two hands wrap around my wrists, but they felt different. I realize Jimmy and Hannah Kate had caught me. "Were you expecting that to happen?" They exchanged glances, then nodded at me. I sighed. "Well, thanks I guess." I head off, being very careful with my footing.

I made it to my first class without falling, luckily. And when I got to lunch I went outside and sat down with my new lunch group. I sat with Jake, Charlie, Hannah Kate, Jimmy, Riane, and River. Yeah, I know it's a little bit of a misfit table, and River was a big jerk to me, but it somehow worked. His dorkiness worked with us, and Jake and Charlie just kind of accepted him as well as Jimmy. Charlie still wasn't a big fan of me, and I wasn't too smitten with him either. Stop smiling fool. But we both made a silent pact to just deal with each other. I sat in-between Jake and River, while Charlie, Jimmy, HK, and Riane sat in front of us in that order. I set my bag on the ground. "Hey Katie." Jake greeted me, kissing my cheek. "Ew. You know you guys are gross." River comments. "Oh please. You're just saying that because you're not in an relationship." Riane says. "You're not in a relationship either!" He retorts. "Yeah, but I'm not telling my friends that their relationships are gross!" She shoots back. "Guys guys guys!" I interrupt. They both look at me, eyebrows raised. "Stop fighting! I swear you're like the two most stereo typical siblings in the world." Riane's shoulders slump, but River looks offended. "Hey!" I shrug. "I'm only telling the truth bro. Take it or leave it." He crosses his arms. "Leave it." HK sticks her bottom lip out in a fake pout. "Aw. You've offended him." He glares at her, but refrains from saying anything. Charlie reaches over the table pats him on the back. "Just let it go man." "It's just playful banter, River. I don't mean it." I explain. He didn't say anything, but he was looking at me again. "Anyway, how many times were you telling me Katie has fallen?" Riane asks HK. "Eleven. Unless she's fallen since this morning." They all look at me. "I haven't!" I exclaim. Hannah Kate raises her eyebrows. "What?" "Come on. What did you do?" She pushes. "Nothing!" I insist. Same look. "Alright, fine! I ran into a desk with my hip! Stop patronizing me!!" I confess. Jake pats my shoulder reassuringly. "See what I mean? You'd swear she had skis for feet." Hannah Kate says, talking to Riane now. I narrow my eyes. "And you say I talk weird." I respond , rolling my eyes. "Oh don't be sensitive. You've accepted the fact that you're clumsy, and we love you for that!" She exclaims, throwing her hands in the air. "Well, they love you for that. I'm just trying to convince my injuries." Jimmy says. I scrunch my nose up. "Sorry Jimmy. You just always end up being on the other end of my accidents." I apologize. "It's fine. It's not your fault."
