Jakes POV

On the way back to her house, our hands are held tightly together as they sway back and forth. The winds gives a cool breeze, and I lift my face to it. I notice that Katie shutters and that she's in a t-shirt while I have a nice jacket. "Are you cold?" She looks up at me. "Nah, just a slight shutter." I raise an eyebrow. "Are you telling the truth?" She focuses her eyes on the ground. "Well... No. But I don't want you to get cold just for me." I smile at her selflessness. Still, I release her hand and shrug the leather jacket off my shoulders. She starts to object, but I just wrap it around her. Defeated, she pulls it tighter around her. "Thanks. But, what'll keep you warm." I shrug, and put my arm around her and pull her tightly against me. "You will." She seems satisfied with that answer, and leans her head against my chest. I'll admit, she was a bit taller than most girls, but still had nothing on me.

The wind suddenly blew harshly and I shivered involuntarily. Katie looked at me with concern. She stopped us from walking. "See? You need this." She starts to take it off, put I press it against her. "No, you need it more." She crosses her arms like a child. "I'm not moving from this spot until you take your jacket back." I sigh. "Seriously? Katie, I know your intentions are good, but we need to get you home." She sticks her nose in the air. "Not moving huh?" I question. She nods. "Ok. You don't have to move." She smiles in victory. I take this moment while her guard is down to grab her waist, and hoist her over my shoulder. She's shrieking in laughter and surprise. I walk over to a grassy spot on the side of the road and decide it will have to do. I take her waist, hold her out in front of me, and flip her upside down. Now she's screaming in laughter and horror. "Accept the jacket!" I tell her. Her face is turning slightly pink from the blood rushing there. "Never!" I shrug. "Okay, you'll just have to stay like this forever."

She seems to consider it for a moment, as if it was actually an option, and sighs. "Fine." She resigns. I smirk as I gently set her down on her back in the grass. She's pouting like a 5 year old. I get on my hands and knees so my face hovers over hers. "That's unfair. I can't lift you." I grin. "Maybe. But that doesn't make it unfair." Her pout remains. I peck her lips and stand up. I help her to her feet and take her hand in attempt to get her going. "I can't keep you warm." "Oh for goodness sakes Katie! Your all I need." I wrap my arm around her, and she finally surrenders. We make it to her house in about 5 minutes from that spot. I help her up to the window as she opens it as quietly as possible. After she climbs in, she looks down at me in admiration. "Welp, I guess this is it." I say. She sighs. "For now." I wave at her and she blows me a kiss. I pretend to catch it and wink. She rolls her eyes but I can tell she's suppressing a smile. "Bye." "Bye." "Bye." She puts a hand on her hip. "You already said that." I smile. "I know. I just don't want to leave you." "I'll see you tomorrow you crazy person." I resign. "Fine. Goodnight." She waves and shuts the window. How come I already miss her?
