What could go wrong?

Nosy little Twerp

I walk in the school doors and keep my head down. Someone taps me and I look up to see green eyes sparkling with mischief. "Hey HK." I say, like nothing's going on. "Oh don't you hey HK me, I'm to excited!" She squeals. I love Hannah Kate, I really do, but she can be kinda loud. "Shhh!" I caution. "It's not that exciting. It's just my first kiss, no big deal." She looks at me shocked. "No big deal?!" She shrills. I hold my finger to my lips. "No big deal?!" She whisper/yells. "Katie, he's gonna get you your first kiss! It might even be from him." Her eyebrows go up and down suggestively. I shake my head. "Whatever." I say, walking into my own class. The rest of the day goes by with no events to speak of, and then it's the walk home.

I leave the school and hear heavy footsteps trying to be sneaky. I didn't even have to look. "Hey Jake." I turn and see him in mid scaring position, about to strike. His hands go down to his side. "How'd you hear?" He pouts. "Your footsteps are extremely heavy, even when your trying to be sneaky." His bottom lip sticks out and he folds his arms over his chest like a 5 year old. "Aww! Look at you, trying to be all mature." I say, pinching his cheek. I smile and turn around to start the walk to my house. "Well, maybe you have super hearing." He suggests, slowly putting his arm around my shoulder. "Do you eat a lot of carrots?" He asks. I suppress a laugh. "That's eye sight smart one." I reply. "Right. Pfft, I knew that!" He says. "Mmhmm." He glares at me, which causes me to bust out into a fit of laughter. And soon, he joins.

"Okay, look. Here's my cell number." I say, handing him my phone. "Why are you giving me this?" He asks. "So you'll stop throwing sticks at my window!" I cry. He chuckles at this, and puts the number in his phone. We approach my house. "Alright, see you later never been kissed." My eyes widened and I thrust my hand out and covered his mouth. I got close to his face and whispered through my teeth. "Please please please don't call my that ever again." He removes my hand, but he stays right in my face. "Fine sensitive." We stay where we are for a minutes or so, but it seems like hours. "So, who do you want your first kiss from?" He asks, voice low. "I-I don't know." I reply. His close proximity was making me loss my train of thought. His hand cupped my cheek, and he slowly leaned toward me. And I didn't back away. His lips just slowly grazed mine, when we hear, "Katie!! What on earth are you doing?!?!" Shrills Emily the romance breaker. Our heads knock together and we instantly release each other and hold our foreheads. "Ow! Sweet mother of pearl!" I cry. Of course, Jake is suppressing laughter. "Don't you start with me mister." I say, pointing at him accusingly.

"Katie!" I sigh. "Emily, calm down. It wasn't a big deal, it's just a kiss." Her shoulders slump in defeat, then she does a little jump with joy. "If it's not a big deal, you wouldn't mind me telling mama and daddy now, would ya?" She asks. "No!" I cry. She smiles. "What do you want?" I ask in defeat. "3 weeks allowance." Small price to pay for my life. "Fine." "Good." She replies, skipping through the door. I look at Jake. "I thought you two had a great relationship." I sighed. "We do, but big sisters still tease and little sisters still tattle. Text you later I guess." He nods. "Okay. Good luck." He says, motioning toward my house. "You'll need it."

Sorry it's taken so long to update. I've been so busy in school let me tell you. I know this one is short, and maybe not worth the wait, but I'm trying.
