On the way back to my house, Jake took every opportunity to hold my hand, hug me, kiss me, touch me in some way. All in all, we never lost touch with each other. Which is strange since we've only been going out for like, 5 minutes. How long has he liked me?

Jake's POV

She said it! She said yes! I didn't think she would. I look down at her, she thinks I'm taking her home but really I'm taking her to a meadow. She looks so innocent, like the first time I saw her. My arm around her, happiness in my heart, I took this time to reflect. Don't get me wrong, I'm not the type of guy to "reflect" on my life, I'm talking about Katie. She thinks I just noticed her 2 weeks ago, but really it was about a few months ago. Crazy, I know, the biggest guy in school noticing the smallest girl . But with our last names, it always landed me behind her in class. Over time, I grew to look forward to seeing just the back of her head. Okay, so I'm not in love with her hair, it's just all I could see of her. Her quietness made me wonder what she was hiding, and I grew more and more fascinated with her.

I swear, what happened in the hallway the first time we met was an accident, kinda. I threw the ball, and saw her face and stopped. This was maybe the second time I'd seen it, but this time it was a full view. She pushed her glasses up her nose and began taking stuff out of her locker, oblivious to my staring. With one glance, she wasn't the prettiest thing, but a closer look and she seemed beautiful in a way. I heard the ball being tossed and jumped for it, only to go toward the person I was staring at. Of course, I ended up taking her down with me, and then this all happened. I look down at her again, and this time her eyebrows are furrowed in confusion as I go toward a path in the woods instead of the way to her house. She tugs me toward the road that goes to her house.

I tug back. She frowns and says, "This is the way to my house, you know that." I raise one eyebrow. "Well maybe I'm not taking you home." Her eyes hold confusion but she says nothing. I look at her again. I always take time to analyze her face when she's not looking, she would probably feel uncomfortable if she knew I was. Her glasses are shielding her eyes, and her hair is pulled back. She took them off for me once, but it was a quick glance before she hurriedly put them back on. We come to the meadow, and I release her. I take her hand and run, pulling her behind me. Katie starts laughing her beautiful laugh and I join. We go to the middle and I sit down, pulling her with me. We collapsed on the ground next to each other breathing heavily.

Once we're breathing normally again I sit up and Katie does the same. Again, I look at her. I can't help it, I don't know why but I can't keep my eyes off her. This time she catches me. I keep looking confidently as she shifts uncomfortably under my stare. "What?" She asks. I smile. "Nothing. Just looking." She raises an eyebrow but goes back to looking ahead of her. "This place is beautiful." She says. It was true. I've been coming here since I was little, and at night the moon showed it's rays confidently against the grass. Suddenly, ambition takes over me and I turn to face gopher and blurt, "Take your glasses off and your hair down." She looks flustered. "N-No. I already did. Why?" She finishes with a whine. I smirk. "Because before you only took them off for a split second and I want to see the color of your eyes and hair." "Why?" She asks again. I sigh. "Because I want to fantasize what our children will look like. Just cause!" I say, dripping with sarcasm.

She let's out a deep breath. "Fine." She admits in defeat. As easily as before, she slipped her hair band out and removed her glasses. She looks at me for a second, than tries to put them back on. My hand shoots out to stop her. "Ah ah ah. Let me see." I tell her as if she were a child. She pouts for a second, but then turns and looks me dead in the eye. I could tell she was uncomfortable, but I couldn't tell why. It was a beautiful sight. I couldn't tell if her eyes were blue or green or a mix, or what color her hair was exactly, but that's what made them breath taking. "Wow." I say. She smiles a genuine smile and thanks me. "What color is your hair exactly?" I figure she must know. "Um, well, I'm not really sure. There's blonde and brown and dirty blonde and copper all in there. Their spread out so there's a blonde strip here and a brown one there. It's a mess." I smirk. "Wait copper?" I ask. She nods and takes a strip of hair to show me. Sure enough, the color of a penny. "Well, I don't think it's a mess." I say, scooting closer to her.

She chuckles. "Well it is." I frown. "No, it's not. It's beautiful." She looks down at her hands. "What?" I ask gently. "I'm not used to being complimented." Her cheeks are blazing and to me it's adorable. "Well get used to it, because your eyes are next." "Oh, no no no, you don't have to..." "Let's start with color." I interrupt. "What color are they?" She shrugs. "Again, I don't know. Green, maybe blue, maybe both?" "Are you sure about ONE thing about your eyes?" I question. "Yes," she replies confidently. "They have a gold ring around the pupil." My eyebrows furrowed. "Really?" She nodded, and as if on cue, she tilted her face toward the moon light so I could get a good view. I got extra close to her face and smiled. She does not lie, there was a gold ring. "Stunning." I state simply. "Not really if you can't even tell the color." I shrug, still up close. "Doesn't mean the ring can't be gorgeous, like it is." She blushes again and focuses on the collar of my shirt. She really wasn't used to being complimented. I gently push her chin up so she looks me in the eye, lean forward and press my mouth against hers. Even though she's never kissed anyone but me, she was great at it. Her mouth moved in sync with mine, and when we stopped we just looked at each other, happiness in our eyes. I leaned forward and kissed her nose, and she did the same. Wow, I really like this girl.
