Part 28

I fall.

" I got cancer and I don't want to die with us fighting whereas all I always knew was us united. "

I can't find a way to breathe.

Okay she got to be lying, she got to be lying " Tell me you are lying. That you are so desesperate that "

She interrupts me and take off her wig. Sadie is hairless.

I put my hand on my heart and try to breathe.

She goes on " Yes I got cancer. All the times when I missed class it was because of medical appointment, when I said I wanted to stop all the drinking and stuffs it was because I wanted to get better or at least to dont make my case worse. "

Tears are falling down.

She continues

" I lost some weight, I'm not that strong anymore. I hid it because I don't want pity. I want you to know that I won't last forever. My time is counted. I don't want to loose time over some stupid fight. I am so sorry. "

She bursts out in tears " I am sorry. Really. I won't do it again. Never. "

I run to her and hug her tight. I feel so lame and so sad. I can't think properly, but I can cry. So I do cry, a lot. She cries too and we end up crying together in my bed. She manages t say that she doesn't want me to cry but, come on we both know it's not possible. So, we keep on crying and hugging. I mumble that I am sorry really. I pushed her away, so many times, too many times. I feel so low. I feel bad. I don't know. We fell asleep, in each others arms, realizing that life can be taken away for us at any mments and that we shouldn't be mad at each other.

So we start, step by step to go back to what we were. To laugh. To smile. To act as " usual ". I think I forgive Sadie. I don't forgive her because she is ill, I forgive her because I care too much about her and that in a way I can't make it without her. We all have our wrongs.... When you realize that our time is counted you don't want to spend it badly, you want to spend it wisely on the right things.

We are now heading to the station. We are all here with Kemi. By all here I mean Devesh,Sadie andI ...and also Abel. It's the first time I see him since the thing... We just said hi. It seemed awkward but I really want to move on and to don't stay stucked on to this thing.... Kemi is here too, a bit sad. She hug each of us. We are sit in the station hallway, waiting for her train. Her train arrives in 1 hour. So we have one last hour with Kemi.... The all week we stayed together, I mean Devesh hang a lot with her, so did I. I really want to go ahead and to have goood memories with her before she lives. So this is now,the last goodbye. She is here with all of her bagages. We are all by her sides and she just keep on watching her phone.

I say " Kemi, why are you so stressed ? "

" I have no news from Zach for the last 8 hours. Our train is here in 1 hour. "

Sadie asks " Have you call him?"

Kemi nods. I manage to smile " He will come here soon.I mean come on, you got tickets,why would he leave you ? "

She nods and add " I'm really happy, a new start. It's just amazing, with him,I'm sure things will wor out with my music. I will live in London do you realize ? And you guys are always welcome to my house ! "

Devesh laughs " First, get into your house before inviting people."

She laughs " Zach already rented the flat, he showed me some pics. "

Abel just manage to say " Guys let's take a selfie, the last selfie with  Kemi."

She laughs " Guys stop, I'm not gonna die. Bristol and London aint that far ! "

We keep talking and talking. 

It's not 7:45 o'clock 

" The train heading to London will be here in 15 minutes. Passengers please, could you head to check-ins ? "

Kemi look at all of us and just manage to say " I guess this our good bye. " She hug us one by one. First she heads to Devesh and tell him " Devesh you are my brother. I love you,really. Thank you for all those years. For everything." He hugs her back and rubs her back. She adds " You are my roc. " They hug. Devesh's face seems sad actually. He just add " Kemi it ain't no goodbye. You got my number you call me everyday. " She nods. She now heads to Sadie and hug her too " I don't know you that much " ( LOL, you had sex together but i won't say a thing ) ' but really take good care of yourself, okay? " She nods. She now heads to Abel and hug him, hug him really tight. She just manages to say " I love you. I'll miss you so so much." She kisses his cheek and add " don't do anything stupid, please take care, really." He nods, she starts to let go of him but he goes to her and hug her tight. Few seconds later she comes to me hug him and say " Thank you Jourdan. Thank you withing a few months, you showed me so much. Sorry again. Please take care of my boys." I nod and she hugs me. 

She starts to walk away and comes back. She gives an enveloppe to Devesh and tell to all of us. 

" This is for you guys, for all you did to me. I wanna help. Use it for college, car, clothes, whatever you want.  It's my way to help you." 

We all look at her, not sure to understand. Abel come to her and says " You don't have to do that, we don't want your money." 

She answers " Shut up. I know your mom is having some money trouble,help her with it. Stop being so proud. Just accept it. It's for all of you. Share it as you wish. Now i gottogo. Love you. " 

She now leaves.

I ask Devesh " Is she serious ?"

He answers " Kemi being Kemi I think that she is. "

Abel says " I'm not leaving until she left with this train. I'm gonna wait."

Sadie then asks " What about that guy, Zach? Did he arrive ?"

I answer " I don't know but Kemi didn't seem stressed, maybe he is joining her in London ?"

We wait.Silence was awkward. Nobody talked. 

8 o'clock. The train is leaving. I get up. Look at Devesh. " Maybe we should go now ?"

He nods and says " Everybody in my car. Let's grab something to eat."  

We walk out of the station.Abel behind us. Alone. Thinking.  We stop, waiting for him. He comes. We all get in Devesh's car. I go to my place, which means the front one. It's so weird, so Devesh put some music on. And wink at Abel " your favorite Drake song, mate " Devesh starts to rap and Abel mumble some lyrics. Sadie is like " I know this one !! YOU DA FUCKING BEST, YOU DA FUCKING BEST ! " 

I look at them all smiling. Devesh drives to Burger King and we all get down of the car. Few moments later we are sit at a table. Sadie and I talk, Devesh and Abel do the same. We are now done. We get into Devesh's car and I ask if he can take me home. He nods and we are now heading to my place. When Abel shout" Devesh go back to the station. Hurry ! "
