CHAPTER ; dance battle

AFTER HAVING A FEW WEEKS TO HANG OUT AND LEARN MORE ABOUT THE NEW MEMBER, the eight members started to learn some new choreography for their title track I Need U. This song marked a change for the boys, reflecting in the addition of Mason as their typical hip hop-esque style changed for a sentimental EDM song.
"Mason-ah." Jimin called and the boy looked up at him, nodding in response.
"To see how good you are at our dances, let's have a dance battle." Jimin announced, smirking.
"Sure, who am I up against?" The younger asked. Knowing that he wouldn't be as good as the rest since they were dancing to their own songs, he tried to put up a confident front for them. He's just trying to make it look good.
"Jungkook, Hoseok hyung and me" Jimin said, pointing to the two of them, then to himself.
They all walk to the middle of the dance floor and the music starts playing.
First, it was "We Are Bulletproof part 2". The others saw that the movements Mason was doing were so fluid and sharp, maybe even better than a few of the members. Next, it was "Boy In Luv".
Since they were at the SM building, some of the trainees heard music and started watching at the door. Taehyung welcomed them in and they sat on the floor, staring at the four dancers. After five more songs, Hoseok and Jimin dropped out, but Mason and Jungkook were still at it.
Both of their competitive spirits were unleashed. Soon after, Yoongi changed the songs from BTS songs to any group's songs. Older groups like EXO, TVXQ, and Super Junior were played but they still kept dancing. Six songs later, Jungkook dropped out, lying down on the floor. Mason was still at it with the dancing.
He looked tired, but he couldn't stop. He was still at it at least ten songs later,
After SNSD's Gee, he finally stopped dancing. He hunched over in the middle of the room, holding onto his knees.
The applause that rang in the room scared Mason. He forgot that he was doing a dance battle. He got so deep into the dance that he literally danced like no one was watching. He looked around, seeing Johnny and Taeyong, running up to him.
"Seunie, that was awesome!" Taeyong yelled. "Who knew that you were that good at covering dances?"
"Wow, you actually won against Jungkook." Jimin gasped behind the three trainees. "And, your dancing was amazing." He complimented Mason with a bright smile on his face, looking behind him at the two other trainees.
"Hi, I'm Jimin, you are?" He said bowing to the boy with striking visuals.
"You already know Johnny hyung, but this is Taeyong hyung." Mason introduced while the others bowed to the elder. "They're also older than you and Taehyung hyung." He stuck his tongue out at Jimin, who playfully slapped his shoulder.
"They're older than me?" Jimin asked, surprised
"Hyungs," Jungkook said, walking up to the four of them. "We're heading back home now, so hurry up."
"When Mark comes in, can you tell him I said hi, hyung?" Mason asked, knowing Mark, one of his closest friends, was on a school trip for the day.
The two said a quick goodbye and walked out to the van that would bring them back to their dorm.
