When the movie was over, I sat up and stretched, startling Tal.
"Sorry, did I scare you?" I teased, standing up and stretching out my leg and barely feeling any pain in my ankle.
"No." He responded, standing up next to me and stretching his own legs.
"I'm hungry, are you?"
"Yeah. I was just about to ask you what you wanted to eat for lunch..or is it supper?"
"I don't know. Where did our phones go?"
"I think they're on the counter in the kitchen, if you can even call it that." I laughed and he chuckled lowly. I walked over to the "kitchen" and grabbed our phones, handing his to him seeing as he was standing right behind me.
"No notifications, you?"
"Please. I never have any notifications."
"Let me see your phone." I handed him my phone, wondering what he planned to do.
"My notifications are still turned on. I just never have anything to get notified about."
"I know they're on, but I know the reason."
"Why?"
"You don't have any social media's."
"Of course I don't. It would only give me another chance to get bullied by you, remember that?"
"Oh. I remember it as the worst five years of my life. Well, what about texts?"
"I don't have any friends, remember? The Cooper's don't have cell phones so I couldn't call or text them that way. They had a house phone, but I've never had to call them for anything since I'm not in anything extra. They don't give a shit about me so they never called me."
"Well, now you have me as a friend." I leaned over Tal's shoulder, having to stand on my the tippy top part of my tip toes, and watched as he added his contact information into my contacts. That made the grand total of contacts reach two people.
"Can we eat now?"
"Sure, then we'll work on getting you onto some social medias."
"Great." I said sarcastically, walking, as best as I could, over to the fridge to see if there was anything in there.
"There should be mac and cheese in the cupboard."
"Do we have milk, butter, and a decent pan to use? What about silverware and dishes?"
"We should have all of those things, but you'd have to double check."
"What are you doing on my phone now?"
"I'm downloading some social medias for you so all you have to do is create some log in's."
"Can I please get around you?" I asked him since he was blocking my path to the fridge. I placed my hands on his bicep, leaned forward, and pushed him with all my strength to try and get him to budge. When he didn't budge, I but my back against his side instead and pushed again. He just stood there and laughed.
"Fine, fine. I'll move..under one condition."
"What?" I stopped pushing him so I could face him completely.
"We both sleep in the bed tonight. I'm sick of sleeping on the couch, and I don't want you alone in a different room. If you want, I'll even sleep on the floor, as long as I'm in the same room."
"Fine. Now MOVE!!" I shouted, laughing as he hung his head low and stalked over to the small bar that was placed at the edge of the kitchen. I laughed even harder when he grinned back at me like he was planning something evil. I walked over to the fridge and opened it slowly, praying we had everything needed to make mac and cheese. When I peeked in wearily, I saw a gallon of milk and a stick of butter. I checked the gallon of milk, and it didn't expire for another four days.
"Is there milk and butter in there?"
"Yeah, and the milk isn't expired. Neither is the butter."
"Hallelujah." I found a decent pan, and started making the mac and cheese. When I was finished, I found two plates and served the mac and cheese onto them. I grabbed two forks, placed them on the plates, placed the pan in the sink, filled it with water so it would soak and be easier to clean, grabbed the plates, and headed over to where Tal was sitting.
"Can I have my phone back?"
"Sure." Tal handed me back my phone and started digging into his food. I checked out what socials he got me.
When we finished eating, we put our plates in the sink and spent the rest of the day signing me up for social media's. Tal walked me through how they all worked and I added him as a friend on everything. I didn't really have anyone else to add, so we scrolled through his socials together. I felt a surge of affection every time I did something wrong and Tal helped me fix my mistake. It was nice to just sit down with someone I care about, who cares about me, and do something fun. We joked about all the things we saw and made up little stories for some of the pictures. It was the best day I'd ever had.
