After having been at the police station for almost 2 days, they finally brought Allison and the men she was working with into the station. They took them straight to jail, and we were permitted to leave after being asked a few more questions. One of the cops offered to drive us home, even though we never told him where that was. We grabbed the bags and rode with the cop.
We eventually pulled up at the Cooper's house.
"What are we doing here?" I asked the cop, gripping onto Tal.
"This is your home young lady, isn't it?"
"Not any more."
"What do you mean?"
"I don't want to live here any more. I officially moved out...I just have no where to stay."
"You can stay at my place." Tal piped up, looking down at me in affection.
"Really? Wouldn't I be a burden?"
"No. I'm positive my family will love you."
"So, are you staying here young lady, or going with him?" The cop asked, looking in is rear-view mirror at us. Tal looked over at me in hope that I would agree to live with him and his family until we could get a place to ourselves...at least I think we would be getting a place to ourselves at some point.
"I'll go with him. Can we please hurry away from here...I don't like being near this house."
"All right then. Off we go!" I laughed at the cop who was trying so hard to lighten the mood after hearing so much sadness from us in the past few hours.
"I don't have many things....and I don't have any school supplies." I said, turning to Tal.
"That's okay. We can take online courses..if my mom'll let us. If not, we're in all the same classes any way. We can help get you new supplies and we can both catch up on the work together."
"Thank you." I said, hugging Tal.
When we finally arrived at Tal's house, we thanked the cop and, grabbing our bags, started entering the house. It was a huge white house. It was incredible.
"You live here?" I said, looking at Tal in shock.
"Yeah. My parents make good money." He said, chuckling lightly as he guided me into the house. When we entered, a young boy who looked about 13 or 14 came running over to greet Tal. He wrapped his arms around him and started laughing, Tal joining him soon after.
"Eva, this is Adi, my younger brother." Tal said, letting go of Adi.
"Hi Eva. I see you're still alive." Adi said. I stood there with my mouth open, Tal coming over to me and hugging me.
"Adi! Don't say things like that!" Tal said, reaching over to punch his brother on the arm.
"Ow. That hurt. You didn't have to punch me for telling the truth."
"You don't say things like that. EVER! To ANYONE!!"
"Why not?"
"It's not nice, and this was/is a serious issue."
"Did Allison get put in jail?"
"It's none of your business." Tal said, leading me down a hallway and into a room. "This is my room." He said, setting the bags on the bed. It was a queen size bed and had white sheets. There was a small dresser in the corner, and a closet. There was a stand by the side of the bed that was cluttered with a bunch of things.
