When the movie was over, I could barely recall what had happened.  I had been too busy thinking about what Tal had said.  Should I really write a book about my struggles and give people advice on how they can over come those obstacles in their life.

"So, what did you think Eva?"  Tal asked.  I focused my glazed-over eyes on his, having to tilt my head so I could see him.

"To be honest, I really wasn't paying attention.  I can't get past the fact of me writing a book."

"You really should do it."

"You think so?"

"Yes!!  You can even start right now.  I'll get you something to write with and something to write on.  Why don't you sit at the counter?"

"Thanks, and sure.  I have so many ideas that I just want to get them down if I'm actually going to go through with this."  I watched as Tal brought me a pen and a medium sized notepad.  It would have to work until I had my rough draft done.  I would even type it on my phone if I had to.

"I'm going to leave you alone now.  I'm gonna try my best to be quiet."

"Why don't you watch YouTube?"

"That's a great idea.  Good thing I brought my headphones." Tal chuckled, walking away to grab his headphones.  I started to write, the words practically flowing out of me like a river.

I ended up writing down thoughts the whole rest of the day, never stopping to eat or talk, only to go to the bathroom when I could no longer hold it in.  I had a total of 15 sheets of notepad paper full of scribbled ideas.

"Eva?  We should really get to bed.  It's 11:30.  You can write down more things tomorrow."

"Ok.  Let me just check my phone first."  I put the notepad and paper in my suitcase and checked my phone, which was still on the charger.  I had one notification from Instagram, 5 from Snapchat, 3 from Facebook, and 2 from Twitter.  I also had one missed call from the Cooper's.

"Get any notifications?"

"Yeah, but I also got a call from the Coopers."

"What's wrong with that?"

"They've never called me before.  And considering where I am right now, I'm a little bit nervous.  I wonder what they want."

"Well, why don't you call them back and find out."  I felt my whole body start to slightly shake.  I was nervous.  What if they had known where I had gone?  What if they found out everything that had happened?  I dialed their number and walked into the other room so I wouldn't bother Tal.

On the third ring, Mrs. Cooper picked up.

"Hello?"

"Hello, um, Mrs. Cooper?"

"Eva?  Why are you calling so late?"

"I was wondering why you called me."

"Oh, well, we were going to have you do something for us, but it's too late now.  Why weren't you watching your phone?  It's not like you have anything else to do other than school.  You can't have that much homework, can you?"

"Actually, about that."

"What do you mean?"

"I'm not at home."

"Where are you?  I doubt you're out with friends."

"I'm 10 hours away from home."

"Why?  Where did you go?"

"I'm staying at a hotel with someone."

"Is it a boy?  If it's a boy you better get home right this instant otherwise you'll have to deal with me."

"You know what, I don't have to listen to you.  For all I know, you could be robbing people every time you go away some place.  I don't have to do what you tell me because you're not my actual mother.  None of you are my family, and I hate you all for shielding me from the world for so long and forcing me to be a sheltered nobody!  You kept me away from anything fun or social and you never cared about anything having to do with me or my life."  I hung up quickly in anger, suddenly remembering that I was supposed to be wearing a boot.

"TAL?"  I called out, frantically searching for the missing boot that was supposed to be supporting my ankle, which surprisingly didn't hurt one bit.

"Eva?  What's wrong?"

"Have you seen my boot?"  I heard Tal's footsteps getting closer, so I turned around to see a confused expression displayed on his face.

"What do you mean?"

"You know, the boot that's supposed to be on my foot?  I forgot about it completely and now I can't find it.  Can you help me look for it?"

"sure, but how did you lose it?"

"I don't know."

"How did you forget about it?"

"I DON'T KNOW!!"

"ok, sorry. But, it can't be that easy to just lose a medical boot off of your foot."

"Exactly."

Tal and I spent the next half an hour searching for my boot, but we never found it.  He didn't ask about my conversation with Mrs. Cooper, so I didn't bother telling him.  If he was curious or wanted to know, he would ask.

To be continued...
