Remus Lupin did not get jealous.

At least, that's what he thought. But, when he saw you sitting on the couch in the common room with his best friend, a fire ignited in his stomach.

He hid his face behind a rather large textbook, and listened to James innocently flirt with you all the while trying to contain the jealous rage that coursed through his veins.

"James," you said through a giggle, "you prat, you're blushing so hard all I said was "I love you" in French!You said you wanted me to teach you the language!"

"I'm sorry, Y/N, but French is such a sexy language, I can't help it! I am so glad you went on that trip to Paris over the holidays. Say something else! Teach me how to say 'Lily, your eyes shine like the stars'."

"That would be 'Lily, tes yeux brillent comme les étoiles'."

"Merlin, if you spoke in French all the time you'd have every bloke in this school worshipping the ground you walk on."

Suddenly, Remus slammed his book shut and made his way across the common room. His actions were fueled by the envy he felt for his best friend, the fact that he was so close to you, and without thinking he pushed James to the floor and took his seat on the couch. He flung an arm around you and pulled you into his chest, and the moment he had you wrapped in his arms, his heavy breathing slowed and his demeanor became much calmer.

From the floor, James Potter was rolling with laughter, ecstatic over the fact that the brilliantly evil plan to make Moony jealous had worked.

"Remus," you said slowly, "did you just push James off the couch to cuddle with me?"

"I might have," he said as a sheepish grin took over his face, "does that bother you?"

"No, absolutely not. James can't pronounce anything correctly in French to save his life. He also won't appreciate the stash of dark chocolate and coffee I have that I've been saving to share with you, but since my boyfriend been too busy for me all week, it has just been sitting there."

James shot up from the floor and saluted his two friends before gathering his school books and saying goodbye for the evening.

"Well, that's my cue. Enjoy your chocolate, coffee, and snogs, Y/N. Thank you for teaching me how to impress Lily in French."

Before he began walking away, James smacked a hand to his forehead and spoke once more.

"I almost forgot! You're welcome for helping you get your boyfriend to pay attention to you!"

James then scurried away faster than you had ever seen him move before, and you felt Remus's body shake slightly beside you.

"I should have known," he chuckled. "I can't believe I didn't realize when my best friend called my girlfriend sexy that the two of you were making me jealous on purpose. I'm sorry I've been so distant this week, love, I've just been busy with prefect duties and a mountain of schoolwork."

"Well, Remus, he didn't actually call me sexy; just the way I speak French. But yes, you have been ignoring me and you did deserve that."

"I know, I know. I promise I'll spend loads of time with you this weekend love."

"Why not right now? Your dorm is empty, I have an enormous stash of French chocolate, and you're almost finished with your potions essay."

"I want to, Y/N, really I do but..."

His words were cut short when your hand covered his mouth gently. He didn't miss the sultry look in your eyes as you licked your lips and moved your hand to cup his cheek.

"J'ai envie de toi désespérément," you whispered softly, "Fais-moi l'amour, Remus."

Remus's eyes grew wide and he swallowed harshly. Your favorite thing to do was tease him in French, and he knew exactly what those words meant.

He grabbed you by the hand and pulled you towards the boy's dormitory; his mind no longer focused on his schoolwork, but clouded with thoughts of how beautiful the French language sounded coming from your lips and of how special and loved he was about to make you feel.
