"Adesuwa, wait up," Josh called.

Adesuwa stopped, waiting for him to catch up with her. "Hey Josh," She smiled at him and turned to Tony who stood next to Justice in their school day wear.

"Someone looks happy." Tony blurted out and she rolled her eyes at him. "I was just joking not that I'm not happy you're back to your lively self." He chuckled.

Adesuwa was taken aback as she stood before Tony, her mouth agape in surprise. To her amazement, Tony let out a chuckle, revealing an expression on his face that was completely different from his typical stoic, poker-faced demeanor or his usual look of concern or worry. This unexpected display of emotion from Tony left Adesuwa in awe, as she had never seen him in such a lighthearted and jovial mood before. It was as if a weight had been lifted from his shoulders, and he was finally able to relax and enjoy the moment. For Adesuwa, this was a rare and refreshing sight, one that she would not soon forget.

"Why are you like that?" Josh scrunched his eye brows asking Adesuwa.

"He," she pointed at Tony. "Tony just chuckled, like really chuckled." She was still surprised.

Tony laughed. Adesuwa jaw dropped. Did he just laugh? Adesuwa wondered why Tony was in a good mood then he pulled her into a tight hug.

"That's why you are surprised?" Josh huffed in annoyance like he was expecting something else and then eyed the hugging duo.

"You look beautiful when you're happy, especially now." Tony whispered to her still hugging her.

As Tony hugged her tightly, Adesuwa couldn't help but feel a sense of unease wash over her. Although she appreciated the kind words he had just spoken, she was not the type of girl who easily accepted compliments from boys. Despite her reputation as a human rights activist, according to Chioma as well as her expertise in books, Adesuwa remained a novice when it came to matters of the heart. She had always been more comfortable with facts and figures, and the realm of emotions was still largely uncharted territory for her. With a gentle tug, she pulled away from Tony's embrace, hoping to avoid any further awkwardness or discomfort. As she took a step back, Adesuwa couldn't help but wonder if there was more to Tony's affectionate gesture than met the eye, or if she was simply reading too much into it.

"Guys," they turned to see Justice. "Hey," he greeted and she flashed him a smile.

"It seems you've forgotten us." Josh said.

"More like you guys forgot me." Justice replied eyeing them.

"Let's forget about all of that." Tony said and turned to her. "Why are you so happy?"

"My brother is resuming today." She chirped excited.

"Today?" Justice asked with a confused look.

"New intake, he's in ss1." She replied.

"What house is he in?" Tony asked moving a bit closer to her.

"Maitama house." She answered and stared at his day wear.

"I'm in Maitama house." Tony said smiling.

"So am I." Josh chirped in. "We can both take care of him. You'll introduce us to him." She nodded.

"Okay, now I'm feeling left out again." Justice turned to leave but Adesuwa called him back.

"No, Justice wait." He  stopped. "Don't go you can take of him to." He raised a brow at her and she added quickly, "that's if you want to."

Adesuwa stood anxiously waiting for his reply while Tony glanced at him weirdly.

"Sure." He smiled and she let out a sigh of relief. She didn't want to be known as the girl who destroyed their friendship.
