chapter twenty-three

Tony's POV

"Don't you think avoiding her is not the best option" Josh ask sincerely after he drank out of his RC cola.

I clench my jaw as pictures of her sitting on Kezz leg flashed through my mind. I am jealous and I know that, I'm so confused, I don't know what to do, I dont know what I'll do if she's three feets away from me, if she is around me.

"Josh is right Tony. You can't avoid her forever, somehow someway, you'll have to talk to her besides she's your assistant" Justice say peeling his eyes off the junior student walking towards the tuck shop and returning it within seconds.

"I can" I mumble

"Stop being irrational Tony, just man up and talk to her it doesn't hurt to and she's happy, that's all that's supposed to matter to you" Justice adds as he tries to discreetly stare at the junior student.

Currently, we are sitting on one of the sit outs close to the tuck shop. Exams are over, Justice, Josh and I decided to chill out close to the tuck shop. It has a nice view of the school's geological garden and it's far from our class room where Adesuwa is.

"Why can't you take your own advice" I retort with folded arms staring at the junior student who has captured the heart of my friend.

I watch as he shifts uncomfortably on his seat.

"Don't divert the matter on ground" he

"But he's right Justice" Josh say as he moves his gaze to the girl. "She's pretty" he compliments

A scowl etch on his face at Josh compliment. He readjust when he notice that she look our way, her friend whispers something into her ear and she blushes but quickly turn away.

"I think the feeling is mutual" Josh muse and stands up when he notice she is close to us. He blocks their part " hey"

"Senior Joshua good afternoon"  her friend and her greets.

"Afternoon and it's Joshua" he corrects her " this are my friends, Tony..." He points to me and I nod my head in acknowledgement. "...and Justice..."

Justice smile awkwardly at them but anyways nods his head.

"...but you probably already know that" Joshua adds and the duo nods their head. "What's your name?" He directs his question to the lucky girl.

"Bolu"she answers  trying hard not to smile.

"Bolu" Justice repeats as if testing how it sounds coming from him, I watch as she stare at him with a hint of adoration. "That's a nice name for a beautiful girl like you"

I roll my eyes. Wow! So cheesy, I thought he could do better than this but then he's right, Bolu is a beautiful girl the ebony skin, thick dark hair but can not be compared with Adesuwa's soft silk hair....dang! I did it again, I thought about her. I push my thoughts away from Adesuwa and focus on Bolu, she isn't that tall, she has a smallish stature and a not so noticeable k leg.

"Would you be coming for social night" I ask, at least it's going to be the best place for them to talk and this social night is the talk of the school since it's the last one before we vacate for the term on Wednesday.

Justice looks my way and sends me a grateful smile. She's about to reply when her friend cuts her in.

"She'll be there senior Tony "

I nod my head. " Sorry for keeping you this long, you can continue"

"It's not a problem senior"

They are about to leave when I stop them, frankly I have no single idea what possessed me to do it.

"What's your name?" I ask her friend and I notice the strange look my friends had on their face

"Elizabeth”

"You'll be there too, right?"

She nods and then pull her friend away.

"It's just a courtesy" I say when they are far away. I explain further when their face morph into confusion " it's not proper, you guys didn't acknowledge her presence"

Kezz POV

"I don't like what you're doing" Saif mutter under his breath which earns him a hard glare from me

"I don't think you're in the point where what you think matters" I hiss out as I took another drag of the cigarette in my hand.

I actually thought I can go without smoking but I can't, it's like it's become part of me something I didn't want to part with.

"Kezz..."

I cut Saif short knowing he was about to spill out stupid things. "Why don't you focus on your non existent relationship with.... what's her name again?" No reply "doesn't matter anyway." I huff and continue with my smoking.

"This is not cool Kezz" Nosa say was he flex his biceps.

I decide to ignore him.

Janet and Naomi join us, Naomi sitting next to Nosa in a tight embrace. My chest clenched at the sight but as quickly as it came it left. Janet walks over to Bayo and place a kiss on his lips, I'm sure its suppose to be a short one but Bayo holds on to her waist like he never wants to let go.

"Would you quit it" I could feel the harshness of my word. They duo move apart but Bayo stare at me with a hint of annoyance.

"Holiday is coming"

My breath seize after Nosa's word. I didn't want to but I had to...I can feel the dread already sipping in my bones but nevertheless I can't help the smirk that form on my face.

"Would you be able to cope with him" Naomi asks slightly concern, key word slightly.

I didn't get to reply because Janet cut in with an eye roll.

"I see your mouse has arrived" Janet say looking at the entrance to the multi purpose hall as we all follow her gaze.

I smile she does look beautiful. I began to walk towards her but she hasn't spotted me yet.

"Kezz" I hear Saif call, I turn to him and he throws me a new shirt and a black mist perfume. "At least smell decent, not reeking of cigarettes" his disapproval clearly dripping.

I flash my teeth at him, pulling off my smoke fill shirt and putting on the new one Saif toss to me, I throw the previous one to him and almost emptied the contents of the perfume, I return it to him just to see him holding out three wraps of baba blue.

"You really do like her" I muse as I collect the fresh breath sweet from him.

I turn back to Adesuwa but she isn't there any longer, my eyes scan the entire hall and lands on her figure standing in front of Tony. I think the others notices this because I hear Bayo whisper

"This should be fun"

I didn't need to look at Saif or let a soothe sayer tell me that he isn't a bit happy about this.

I smile at that "let the fun begin"

Another update though it's a bit late.
