Everyone spent the day packing up everything that we had, which wasn't a lot. "We can do this, right?" I questioned, making Madelyn nod her head as she sat back, cleaning her rifle.
"Of course we can." She says to me, loading the bullets into the cartraig. I sigh, looking down at my crossbow that was sitting on my lap with my arrows to the side.
"We should get moving soon." I say, standing up, my crossbow and arrows now on my back as I walked. Everyone was sitting in the living room, looking to me when I walked in. "Let's go." I say, making everyone nodded their heads.

Leaning against the tree, I watched the smoke from my cigaret leave me and disappear into the air. Looking down to my hand, I pressed the ashy part on my hand. I didn't feel a thing as it burned the skin on my hand. I looked back up to see him gone making me smirk a bit.
I pull the cigaret away from my hand and throw it on the ground. With a sigh, I stood up and start walking back to the group. I walked out and was met with a gun being pointed at me.
"I surrender, take my arrows." I said, smirking as I looked at Lisa, who was pointing her gun at me.
She smiled and shook her head, lowering her gun. I gave a smile and walked up to the front and walked next to Mark. He looked to me as we went, pulling me to the side lightly by the arm, motioning for Madelyn to take the lead and keep going.
"Hey." Mark said, resting his hands on my arms. "You okay?" He asks and I hesitate for a moment before nodding my head.
"Gotta be." I said and he frowned a bit, moving his hands to my waist. "I'll be okay when we're safe again." I said and he let out a sigh, leaning in and pressing a kiss to my lips. Just as we pull back we're met with rain falling.
Laughter filled the group and we started filling up water bottles and containers. It's been so long since we've seen rain, days maybe even weeks.
My eyes went to Bella and Laurel, who jumped at the the roaring sound of thunder that made me flinch. We all exchanged a worried look.
"There's a barn!" I yelled over the pouring rain and lead the group to the barn. We were dripping wet by the time we got there. We searched the barn only to find a lone walker with a gun to the side.
"She could have shot herself." Lynne said, walking up beside me as I took the gun and moved back.
"Some people can't give up." I said, glancing around at the group. "Like us." I said, a small smile on my face.
