Eye Of The Needle (Star Wars)

Chapter 20: Ahsoka Tano

We fought the Separatist droid army the entire night into the next day. There was a short period were they retreated, so we took that time to send the ship up to the Republic fleet for more supplies. However, the army was now back.

"They're back!" Anakin yelled out. "I told you this victory was too easy."

"I was expecting a little more time until they returned." I commented.

"We never should have sent the ship back for supplies." Obi-Wan commented.

"It wasn't my idea to send the ship back." Anakin shot back.

"All right, men. We have a second wave heading our way." I informed the troops.

"Rex, you and your men follow me." Anakin ordered.

"Mocax, you and your men will follow me." I urged. 

With that we moved into our battle positions. We awaited until they were close enough before engaging. As soon as they were close, I ordered the men to attack. We jumped down onto the battlefield, attacking the droids. It wasn't long until Anakin, Obi-Wan, and I reunited on the battlefield.

"We're gonna need reinforcements." Anakin urged.

"We haven't been able to get through to the Admiral." Obi-Wan stated.

As we fought, we noticed the droid army pulling back, surprising us. I glanced over at Anakin and Obi-Wan. "They're pulling back."

We then saw a ship appear above us. Rather relieved we made our way towards the ship. As we walked over Obi-Wan spoke up. "Looks like help has arrived. Our cruiser must be back."

"Which means we'll be able to get our reinforcements." I added.

"Then it looks like our problems are solved. Fresh troops, new supplies...and perhaps they brought my new padawan with them." Obi-Wan mentioned.

Anakin furrowed his brows. "You really think it's a good idea to bring a padawan learner into all this?"

"I spoke to Master Yoda about it. You should put in a request for one. You'd make a good teacher. You too Storm, I know you two would do well." Obi-Wan commented.

Anakin waved it off. "No, thanks."

"Anakin, teaching is a privilege. And it's part of a Jedi's responsibility to help train the next generation." Obi-Wan reminded us.

I nodded. "I agree with Obi-Wan. And I for one would love to take on a padawan."

Anakin scoffed. "A padawan would just slow me down."

The cruiser then opened, revealing a young female Togruta, surprising the three of us.

"A youngling?" Obi-Wan blurted out, just as baffled as us.

"And who are you supposed to be?" Anakin asked.

"I'm Ahsoka. Master Yoda sent me. I was told to tell the three of you that you must get back to the Jedi Temple immediately." The female Togruta informed us. "There's an emergency."

"Well, I don't know if you've noticed...but we're in a bit of an emergency right here." Anakin explained.

"Yes, our communications have been a bit unreliable, but we've been calling for help." Obi-Wan added. 

"Master Yoda hadn't heard from you so he sent me to deliver the message." Ahsoka explained.

Anakin groaned. "Oh, great. They don't even know we're in trouble."

"Maybe you can relay a signal through the cruiser that just dropped me off." Ahsoka suggested.

"That's not a bad idea." I commented, earning a smile from Ahsoka.
