That evening at Phantomhive Manor ...

"Miss Sara, would you please join myself and Ciel in the study?" Sebastian asked as they began to leave the dining room. I glanced at him and he motioned me to follow them, "Yes, it would be my pleasure" as I followed them. We entered the room and Ciel immediately took a seat at a table that contained a chess board with the pieces waiting to be moved and takeovers ready to be executed. I stood nearby when Ciel spoke, "Please Miss Sara, would you sit?" I walked towards the chair and Sebastian held the chair out for me at which I sat and his hands lightly grasped my shoulders before he himself took a seat near mine. I watched Ciel twist a pawn in his hand, "Miss Sara I know your past is a subject of much heartbreak and sadness and yet you have survived. That is a great feat in these times. Sebastian has told me about the conversation you two had and I wanted to inform you that the auction where you were sold those years ago has been destroyed permanently. It wasn't until Sebastian talked to you that it was realized that it had been going on for as long as it had been. Sebastian wanted to inform you but I ordered him to desist until we had a chance to speak." My eyes darted from Sebastian's to Ciel's and I was overcome with an extreme relief that no one else would suffer that way and beyond all else pride in these two individuals, I reached for words to express this to them, "Thank you so much! I feared that the auction would continue indefinitely. I am so overjoyed and filled with pride that the horrible practice was ended by you and Sebastian." "You are most welcome Sara, it was a horrendous practice and had to be stopped. Now back to other matters, I do believe that you have a special knowledge that I hope can be of assistance to my affairs" Ciel added. I waited for him to finish, "Yes, I believe you are speaking of my father and his comment about angels." "Yes, Sebastian you were right she is very astute. Sara, do you know how to play chess?" as he placed the pawn back down. 'I do but I fear I have not played for a very long time" as I eyed the chess board the added, "It was a game that my nanny taught me." Sebastian touched my arm quickly in a reassuring effort because he must have seen the flash of pain sprint across my expression. Ciel grabbed up the queen and began to twirl it in his fingers, "Sebastian has informed me of the conversation that you had with your father the night of his passing and also the gentleman at his funeral. Now I would like to hear it from you and I imagine this will not be easy but I can see you are strong and are ready to fight, you do not seek peace but you seek answers." 'You are right, Master Ciel, I yearn for answers and searched for them but little was gained. My knowledge begins with the words that my father spoke about purification and that the angels are not what the seem. I do not deem it a coincidence that after his death and his last words I was sold to keep me quiet. After years of waiting for an opportunity to escape, it arose and I took it expediently. I went looking for answers but as I told Sebastian the records or documents that would have contained answers were destroyed, as far as I could find at the time. I still remember the gentleman at my father's funeral and the way he spoke in my heart of hearts I truly feel he was somehow directly involved in my father's comment about angels" I stopped short as my anger was blazing inside. Ciel and Sebastian both caught on and Sebastian spoke, "Yes, Miss Sara has an innate sense about such things I believe." My eyes begged him not to tell him of my other innate ability yet Sebastian reassured me once again with his touch, "She has other abilities as well. Some she may not even be aware of." I thought to myself, "What is that supposed to mean?"

Ciel responded teasingly, "Yes she seems to have many abilities" giving Sebastian a look to which Sebastian did not respond then asked me, "What ability does Sebastian speak of?" I took a deep breathe and focusing all of my attention on the queen on my side of the chessboard moved it across the board. Ciel stopped twirling the queen in his fingers and took a long look at me then at Sebastian, the asking both of us, "How is that possible?" I attempted to respond with an eloquent and educated answer but the answer that formed, "I do not know. The ability was the means of my escape and it only manifested after my 18th birthday. I looked for others who had the same ability and did not find anyone. I researched where I could and what I found was not encouraging. Most often in human history when someone is different the results are the same, people fear what they cannot categorize or easily understand." Sebastian gently smiled and then looked at Ciel, "I could not say with absolute certainty either, my lord. Throughout my life I had heard of incidents where a person could move objects without touching them, it was believed at one time that persons with this ability were cursed or a witch. I think we can both agree that Miss Sara is not a witch or one who has been cursed. There were others who believed that this power was more a power of the mind, in a mind over matter effect. Now her heightened sense of people and their feelings I know to be a byproduct of her experiences and overall sense of human tendancies." Sebastian smiled at me full of pride when Ciel spoke, "Miss Sara I trust I can rely on you in the future?" "Yes, it would be my honor and pleasure" as I smiled at both Ciel and Sebastian. "Sebastian would you please bring the most recent letter I recieved from the Queen and have Sara take a look?" Ciel asked. Sebastian quickly retrieved the letter and handed it to me. I read the contents of the letter and my first question was, "Is this how the Queen has always sounded in her letters?" Ciel replied, "That is among one of the most notable concerns I have regarding her recent correspondence. Her tone seems to have changed." Sebastian added, "It seems she is not quite herself." "Yes precisely although I have not personally heard the Queen speak I know from reputation that her words carry a certain weight with them. The words chosen here are formulated correctly but lack the weight." Sebastian smiled as Ciel watched my thought process, "Did I not tell you young Master that she was quite singular." "Yes, yes you did Sebastian and now that she has confirmed what we both believed, Sara you will no longer being staying at the Manor when we have need to investigate or address situations for the Queen or of my own personal nature" Ciel looked to me for a response. "It would be an honor to accompany you and Sebastian." Ciel didn't smile but I could sense he was pleased with how the conversation had gone and the results it had yeilded. Sebastian stood first, "Young Master it is getting rather late are you ready to retire for the night?" "Yes, Sebastian I feel a sort of dread creeping upon me as my birthday grows closer. Miss Sara if you will excuse me." "Yes Master. I will return to my duties" as I stood. "I will be back shortly Miss Sara to help with any chores left undone" Sebastian said inching closer to me and gently tugging on my hair as Ciel walked towards the door. I blew him a kiss and followed them out and in the opposite direction down the stairs and to the kitchen.
