Intrusion

Upon arrival to the mansion, Sebastian expressed to Ciel that he and I thought that one of the men, Agni or Prince Soma, could be the culprit but suggested waiting for Sir Arthur. Everyone came out to greet Ciel upon his arrival, Ciel mentioned not getting any peace in London at this rate when it seemed the case was going nowhere and it surely felt like he was right when in walked Lau. I had only ever briefly heard of him from Madame Red and Sebastian. Ciel was not pleased with his intrusion. I headed towards the kitchen, before it was even spoken, to make tea. I heard Sebastian mention tea and Lau recommended Chai rather than Earl Grey. I would get both started for them. I had just begun to boil the water when that scent came wafting through the air. I moved quickly back to the foyer when I saw the two men, Agni and Prince Soma, standing there. Ciel yelled, "You just come barging in here?!" The Prince responded, "Why certainly, we are acquaintances now. Surely you have not forgotten me?" Sebastian watched them closely as Ciel became more annoyed, "We met during a street brawl." "And if you recall I saved you," he said chiding Ciel. "Saved me, excuse you!" Ciel yelled. Both men moved past us towards the stairs, the Prince spoke, "Back home if someone does you a favor you offer them hospitality. Is it the British practice to leave your saviour out in the cold?" We all watched in disbelief as they disappeared upstairs.

Sebastian asked if I'd finish with the tea as he followed Ciel upstairs. I could see the anger in Ciel's expression and hear it in his step. I went back the kitchen to finish tea when I heard Ciel express his anger in words now. Once the Prince was introduced, Mey-Rin Bardroy and Finny bounded up the rest of the steps. I supposed I might have been the only one who heard his name spoken on the street, I would have to be less assuming in the future when it came to what I could hear and what others could. I heard a noise behind me, Lau entered the kitchen, he moved close to me, "So you are the new maid?" I replied short, "Yes." "My you are pretty one," he said looking me over. I felt very uneasy in his presence, "I don't know how to respond to that sir." "No need to respond at all, just an observation," he said moving a little bit closer, "If you ever have need of new employment, I would be happy to help." I looked at him, "Thank you I suppose, but I am happy serving Lord Phantomhive." "That's too bad," he said picking up my red hair and smelling it. My body screamed but I remained calm, "Sebastian will be up with your tea if you'd like to make your way upstairs." He halfway hummed as he turned and left. When he left, I took a deep breath as if I hadn't taken a breath in hours.

Sebastian walked in, "Sara, what is wrong?" I took another deep breath, "Lau introduced himself and offered me a job." Sebastian muttered under his breath as he wrapped his arms around me, "Ignore him, I will make sure he does not do that again." "Thank you Sebastian, I sense he is dangerous," wrapping my arms around him as well. "You are not wrong. But unfortunately he is one of Ciels best informants. When he serves his purpose and I'm ordered by Ciel to kill him, I will not hesitate," he said with a darkness in his expression. I didn't mind that darkness, I felt it was pure and honest. I leaned up kissing him softly, "I love your darkness." A mischievous smile spread across his lips, "Let me get Ciel and Lau there tea and we will take that walk, yes?" "Yes, most definitely," I answered quickly. He took off quickly with the tea tray. I had gone to get my coat when I heard a noise from upstairs, it sounded like a muffled groan. Soon after Sebastian was back,  I asked, "Everything ok?" "Yes, I was only advising Lau on what he can and cannot say to you," he said buttoning the top button on my dark green coat, "Do not worry my kitten, let us go." He took my hand leading me outside, when we were in front of the closed front door he picked me up bridle style springing into the air landing and running quickly the rest of the way to the Thames.

It was very late but the moon and stars watched us walk slowly hand in hand next to the Thames. "Sebastian, tell me something you've never told anyone?" His expression changed repeatedly as he seemed to be thinking of a million situations that he had been in, "I fear you will think less of me, for what I don't say is to protect myself from you seeing the truth." I pulled his gloved hand to my lips kissing it, "Sebastian I understand but know that I love you, for who you are, for what you are, for the things that you have done, enjoyed, and endured to be here right now. It is ok if you do not want to but please know that when you do, I am here for you, not as judge but as the one who wants to love and be with you forever. The one who wants to know everything about you." He stopped us from walking and picked me up lifting him to his lips, his lips softly pressed to mine in the moonlight. His tongue tracing my lips before tracing my fangs and exploring the deep parts of my mouth clashing my tongue against his. He set me down gently pulling away, "Will you still sing for me now?" I nodded as we began to dance. He pulled me close as my voice filled the air trailing over the river of water and lingering on the beginnings of bridges. We danced for a while even after I stopped singing, we found a lonely bench and talked. Sebastian wrapped his arm around me as we discussed all manner of subjects, I didn't want the night to end but as I yawned he picked me back up bridle style running with me in his arms, ever safe and ever in his heart. When we arrived on the steps, I kissed him gently slipping my tongue between his perfect lips for a moment. I felt his smile, "Sleep well my kitten."
