His name is William.
The boy I got in a struggle with.
We sat next to each other in the silent office waiting for the head of year to come back. Her assistant told us that she had to go and dry her face which made me and William respond with a laugh.
"Do you think we are going to get a detention?" I asked quietly while looking at my lap.
"No," William said as he looked ahead. "I feel like we are getting senior detentions," I gave him a nudge as I didn't want to believe it.
In my school senior detentions are like are detentions only they are much longer and far by the worst thing ever. They are usually held in an empty, dull looking room which makes every teen regret all mistakes they have ever made!
And not only that.
My uncle will use this as an excuse to beat the crap out of me.
I don't live with my parents due to them not being able to look after me which leaves me in my uncles care.
My uncle is very strict.
Despite trying to explain that having a detention isn't that bad and that everyone gets it once in their life my uncle still strongly believes in punishing me even more.
He believes I should be perfect.
Even if it results in me going to the A&E. I groaned loudly as I thought about this.
"It's true April Fisher. We might actually get a senior," I frowned a bit as I looked at him.
"How do you know my full name? I don't know yours," I explained and William placed his hand over his chest as if he was in pain.
"No I didn't mean it like that it's just we aren't close enough to know each others surnames. We don't even have lessons together."
"I understand April. Relax. I heard your friends mentioning an April Fisher when I was having my fight so I just assumed you were the April they were talking about,"
"Well your assumption is right," I said as I sat back and William copied me.
"I am glad," just then the door opened and in walked Mrs Viola making William snort. She took her seat in front of us before giving us a disappointed look.
"I am very shocked by your behaviour April," Mrs Viola started making my eyes widen in shock.
All I wanted was to get myself and my friends to our health and social care class.
"If you are shocked at her then why am I here?" William shot back making me pinch myself.
I couldn't laugh.
I couldn't smile.
I couldn't do anything apart from keeping a straight face.
But it wasn't easy.
Mrs Viola turned to look at him angrily.
"Are you not aware of your actions William? The fact that you are involved doesn't surprise me. What are you not involved in?"
"Your sexual relationship," I gasped as Viola turned red and William started laughing.
"Get out!" William got up and made his way to the door. "Not you! Sit back down!"
William stood by the door smirking at the whole situation.
"What?" I asked as I realised that she wanted me to leave the room instead.
"I said leave!" I got up and went to the door as William continued to smirk.
"Now you have no detention," he whispered as he looked me in the eyes.
I stared at him in shock.
He just saved my ass!
"Go on," he said giving me a slight shove. "Go before she remembers," I quickly left while silently questioning what just happened.
I didn't want a senior detention at all but was it really worth William getting in a whole lot of trouble to save me?
If I got a senior detention I would have to endure an hour of sitting in a silent room with no one to talk to and no access to my precious phone...
...actually what he did was worth!
I smiled as I swung my bag over my shoulder and made my way to my lesson.
Thank you William!
