After spending some time on my course work I went to my room and decided to listen to some music.
That was when David decided to send me a message. I opened his message and a video popped up. A boy with blond hair was ruffling his own hair with one hand.
He recoreded himself spinning around once so I could see his surroundings. He was in a club. He suddenly looked to his side and started smiling.
Maybe he was with a friend.
He squinted a bit as he continued to look to the side.
"What?" He shouted over the loud music.
Then he turned to face the camera.
"It's me!" He shouted as he spun around again only this time slower. I could see that he was standing by some stools next to some other people who were holding up glasses and laughing.
The video ended there.
The problem is that I don't know the boy. I have never seen this David person in my life but I can imagine him in my school.
Send me a video of you :)
I typed up a message for him before sending it to him.
Me: I don't want to because I look disgusting right now.
David: You can look disgusting? That's like saying I can walk on water.
Me: Are you tying to say that I am pretty? Please don't lie.
David: I would be lying if I said you are ugly. I never lie.
I couldn't help but smile at his message. No one has ever called me pretty. I decided to take a picture of myself and send it to him. I quickly side parted my hair before sitting up properly and taking the picture.
I sent it to him and waited for the reply.
He messaged me back saying one word:
Loverly.
This made me smile eventhough I knew all of this wasn't okay. This boy was practically a stranger who claims he goes to my school.
What if he is lying?
What if he is a crazy person who goes around looking for native girls to hurt.
But then he couldn't be a stranger. He said that he saw me and William struggling.
This means he must know some of the boys in my year. Maybe he is even close to some of them.
If this David person really goes to my school then he shouldn't mind my proposal.
Let's meet in the school library tomorrow. I just want to meet you in person.
I waited for a few minutes and he replied.
That's okay. I would like that too. See you then April.
I was surprised at how willing he was to meet me. Maybe he was real after all or maybe he is going to cancel last minute.
"April!" My uncle shouted. It was then that I remembered that I should have put my bedroom light off.
My uncle turns off my light at 7pm so I can go to bed early. That is what he says but the real reason is that he can't afford to have the light on all evening so he makes me put them out early.
One time I didn't put it off on time and he punched me in the stomach so hard I couldn't breathe properly for hours. I ended up going hospital and lied that I was coming from a friends house when someone punched me in the stomach.
I knew the nurses didn't believe me but the excuse must have been good enough because they left me alone after that.
Right now I knew that my uncle could see the ray of light in the corridor and is going to make me pay so I layed myself on my side and pretended to be asleep.
"April!" I heard his heavy footsteps make its way to my room. He stopped once he got to my room and everything went silent.
I tried to concentrate with my breathing but it was hard to when I wanted to hear my uncles every movement.
I knew that if I held my breath my uncle would know I am awake and pretending.
Or he might think I am dead.
I felt him lift my legs up and pull my quilt out from underneath.
Does he plan to suffocate me with this because I didn't put the light off?
I then felt the quilt being placed on me and making me feel warm.
My uncle was tucking me in for bed!
After he finished he stood by my bed for a while before turning off the lights and leaving.
So my uncle can be nice when he wants or when I am not conscious.
Brilliant.
