The rest of the school hours went by slowly and soon I was making my way home. I couldn't help but start feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't go into a warm house and had to sit at my doorstep for hours.

Once I got to the door step I sat myself down and tucked my knees up. I couldn't help but wish for all of this to be over. For my uncle to just break down and apologise so we can go back to normal. But deep down I knew non of that would be happening.

I checked my Snapchat to see that I have a new message from David.

Can't wait to see you tonight. I know you are going to look great ;)

I bit my lower lip as I tried to think of how I can explain why I can't go to the party. I could lie that I was going then not show up last minute. Oh dam! That would be awful and unfair on him.

Tbh I don't know if I would be coming to the party...

I could see that David was typing so I waited for his message.

David: How come?

Me: I am kind of busy.

David never got back to me which made me feel slightly relieved. I didn't want to keep on lying about things because I knew one day I will get caught for it.

"So we meet again?" I looked up to see William.

"Hi umm what are you doing here?" I asked and William gave me a smirk before pulling out his phone.

"Should I get the kids to play look out?"

I wasn't sure if I should take up his offer even though my uncle said he would be home around 11pm.

What if my uncle lied to test me.

What if he meant it and I stayed outside and freezed.

"I don't know," I answered honestly.

William squatted down in front of me and gave me a serious look.

"It's cold. You can't sit out here." He started typing on his phone really fast. "The kids are coming okay."

"Okay," I whispered as I held onto my phone and my bag tightly.

A few minutes later a white car parked outside my house and Nathan came out of the car. Me and William both walked over to him.

"Nathan you know the drill right?" William asked.

"Yes. Me and Danielle would make sure the bold man doesn't get here without playing a long game of IT with the whole of us."

"That's my bro!" William gave him your pat on the back before going to speak to the driver.

"Your uncle is kind of creepy April," Nathan whispered.

"He is," I confirmed before leaning closer to him. "Has he done anything to you."

Nathan shook his head before going into the back seat of the car and pulling out a green note book. He handed it over to me before I started to flick through the pages.

"What is it?"

"I think you should read it," Nathan said quietly.

"But I don't have time," I said in a complaining tone causing Nathan to shrug his shoulders.

"I don't want to be the one to tell you April!" I nodded as I understood where the kid is coming from.

"Be the one to tell you what?" William suddenly asked as he stood next to me.
