I ran all the way home to see the white car gone and my uncle sitting on the doorstep. I knew then that I had messed up.

A smirk started to slowly make its way to his face as he stood up slowly.

"April April April. Did you really think you wouldn't get caught?"

At this point I was very scared. I could tell by the look in my uncle's eyes that I was in danger.

"I am sorry...so sorry," my uncle's gaze stayed behind me and I looked back to see nothing.

He frowned a bit before unlocking the front door. He pushed it open before gesturing for me to walk inside. Once inside he quickly locked the door before grabbing me by my left arm. I could feel his nails digging into my skin but this wasn't important at that moment.

What mattered was what he planned on doing.

He pulled me towards the already opened basement door but I started to struggle. I dug my feet into the ground to prevent him from dragging me.

"Please...please you know I hate it inside there...please!" He suddenly got fed up and lifted me from the ground and started to make his way down the basement stairs as I screamed.

"Let go of me!"

"Fine," my uncle said once at the bottom of the stairs. He dropped me on the ground and ran up the stairs quickly. I heard the door lock before I went into full panic mode.

"Help! Help me!" I screamed as hot tears ran down my face. I seriously hated the dark and my uncle doing this was far worse than beating me up. I started banging on the wall.

"Get me out! Get me out!" My fist started to hurt but I didn't care. Even though I was in the basement I was pretty sure that if I kept up the noise someone might hear.

Bang!

Bang!

"Someone please get me out of here!"

Bang!

Bang!

"Please get me out!" There was silence.

Bang!

Bang!

Bang!

"Get me out! Now!"

That is when I heard a loud creaking sound. I put my phone torch on and faced it in the direction of the sound. There was a big framed picture of my parents hanging on the wall.

It started to swing side ways.

Left.

Right.

Left.

Right.

Crash!

The picture suddenly fell to the ground and shattered making me realise it had a glass covering. I pushed myself deep into the corner as I tried to listen out for my uncle's steps.

I decided to calm down and not bang on the wall anymore because my fist was hurting a lot. More tears fell down my cheeks as I thought about being stuck here all night.

I reached in my pocked for my phone before checking to see that I had messages from David.

If you can't make it to the party I won't go ;) hope we can do something together next time.

I needed to get out of this place so I decided to text message 'David'.

Hey David can you do me a favour?

Luckily he must have been using his phone because he replied straight away.

David: yh sure. What is it?

Me: Do you have Williams number? You said you were there when we got in the struggle so I am assuming you were originally watching the fight. Which means you two must be friends right?

David: umm yh we are and I have his number. It's just why do you want to message him. Are you already bored with me? :(

I couldn't help but feel pissed of. This person wasn't even real. I was probably messaging a nerd who got bored of being on My Space and decided to check out Snapchat.

Me: No I am not bored of you. William left his text book with me and I have to message him so we can meet. So I can give it to him.

David: You could have waited until school tomorrow but okay. I will send it.

He sent me his number and I quickly thanked him before typing up a message to William. After typing it up I read over it before sending it.

I am kind of in a desperate situation and I need you to get my uncle out of my house and distract him.

William replied after a minute making me feel calmer about my situation.

Are you okay? Don't worry I have a plan. I have been waiting for this day to come.

I frowned at the message before replying.

Me: Waiting for what?

William: For the day I can say I used my softball bat wisely.

I put my phone in my pocket as I heard slow footsteps making its way for the basement door. I leaned against the wall and closed my eyes as I heard the creak of the door opening.

A tear ran down my left cheek only this time I didn't wipe it away.
