Mei
It's been one month since I left and my mood just gets worse and worse for it. I don't know what to do, I feel this desperate need to go back but how can I? After seeing Yuzu in school the first day after leaving I immediately wanted to go back. But her eyes, her beautiful, captivating, heart stealing, emerald green sparkling eyes.. they seemed dull, and I knew I couldn't go back.. I sighed to myself for what was probably the millionth time, Himeko came into the student council room, "Mei-Mei, your grandfather just stopped me in the hall and asked me to get you to go to his office. It seemed kind of urgent.."
I look at the clock on the wall and see it is half past 4, 'what could be so urgent..' I thought to myself. "Yes of course, thank you Himeko." I said while looking back to her. Having a feeling I wouldn't be back in this room today I packed my paperwork and filed it in my desk, "oh Himeko, could you be sure to lock the doors? I have a feeling I won't be able to myself." She smiled at me. "Anything for you Mei-Mei,"
I nod my head and thank her, leaving the room to head to my grandfathers office, and knock twice. "Enter," was all he said through the door. I open it to see him handing up his phone.
"Is there something you needed grandfather?" I said simply, looking at him quizzically. I heard him sigh deeply, "Yes Mei, but not here, we need to meet your fiancée at 5 for dinner. There is... much to discuss at present." He finished his sentence and stood.
"Let us go now, we have only a short time to get there and you need to change your clothes." I just nod at him and turn to leave the room.
When we arrived at home I quickly change and head back to the car, I hadn't noticed the bags that are packed at the front door until I leave the house. 'I wonder what that's about.' Making a mental note to casually ask about it later.
Getting into the car I say, "Okay I am ready. We should go, we are almost out of time." I wore a clean silk button up shirt what was a deep ocean blue, with form fitting blue dress pants and some black heels. Grandfather noticed.
"It's good of you to put some effort in Mei I am proud of you.. but you not have needed too." I look at him astonished, "what do you mean grandfather?" He just looked at me and said, "You will see."
He looked a little angry and put out by this, so I decided to let it go. For now.
We pull up to the restaurant and walk in, "reservation for Aihara," my grandfather spoke to the hostess.
She smiled and said, "right this way sir," and looked at me to add, "and miss." She had a nice smile, she was cute in her own way with her long dark brown hair and dark green eyes. 'Not as deep as Yuzus colour.. I liked her eyes the most' I looked down and sighed internally. 'Yuzu.. I wonder what she's up too..' I had to stop that train of thought before it went too far.
Throughout the past month, whenever I think of her too much I start hallucinating, I see her running with headphones on her head and a determined expression on her face. I'll be daydreaming about her while I look out a window on the way to or from a dinner with my soon to be husband, and there she will be.
It hurts, but I caused this mess, I wanted the academy and this is how I have to do it.
We get to our table, "right here mr Aihara and miss Aihara, I'll be back with your usual drinks in just a moment." We frequented this place, I guess we have usuals now, though I only ever drink water, but whatever.
I chose the seat facing the window, though it hurts me when I hallucinate Yuzu, I cant stop myself from intentionally thinking about her just to do so. It's the only way I can ever see her outside of school, although unless I'm sleeping, I have yet to see her at the house yet.
"Udagawa chan, welcome, please sit. We have much to discuss I hear." My grandfathers voice snapped me out of my thoughts. I looked to my left and saw him sit, "Evening Mei san." 'So formal.. why?' I thought before replying to him, "Good evening Mr Udagawa. You look well."
He half smiled, "something like that yes.." he turned to my grandfather while I was looking at the menu, "So as discussed earlier.. I must call off the wedding ."
