Second Seal?

Yuzu

"Mei, this man is Yuzus father." My mother looked up, tears in her eyes. The scene Mei described had brought up a feeling, like something was missing in my head. I knew my father died but I couldn't remember how or when. I felt like her next words would break something open inside of me so I braced myself by grabbing onto the arm of the couch, not daring to move from my spot beside Mei. Not one inch.

My mother continued her sentence, "And that nightmare... was the night he died." My head felt like it exploded and froze everywhere, "AAAGGHHH," I screamed, my vision went black and I felt myself falling towards the floor.

Mei

Yuzu shouted in pain and I saw her falling towards the floor. I couldn't think, before I knew it my body moved on it's own and sprung up to catch her before she fell all the way to the floor. I gently pulled her down into a laying position, making sure to carefully cradle her head in my lap.

Her eyes were open, unblinking, she wasn't breathing and she didn't move.

"Yuzu? Yuzu can you hear me?" She didn't respond. "Come on Yuzu get up, breathe!" Still nothing, So I tried another way. I closed my eyes to focus.

'Yuzu! Yuzu it's okay, I'm here. Just breathe through it. I'm here, it's okay, breathe.' She started breathing again, 'Mei? Where are you? I can't see you. Oh god it hurts!' I gently placed my hand on her face. 'I'm right here love, I'm here. I'm not gunna leave you but I need you to get up, okay? Can you do that for me?'

'Mei I can feel your warmth, it's helping, but my head still hurts, it feels like the room is spinning.' I didn't know what to do, 'It's okay Yuzu, I'm here.' I leaned down and kissed her forehead gently, stroking her hair, I didn't know what else to do.

Suddenly she blinked, her eyes darting around the room. Finally they came to rest on mine, "My god that hurt," She stated. She started to sit up, "Yuzu be careful, you could fall again," I said to her. She stood up completely and sat on the couch, "No I think I'll be okay, when you kissed my head I felt a warmth seeping through my mind. Almost like you defrosted my brain."

"Yuzu.. what.. what happened?" Her mother slowly went to her side kneeling on the carpet, "that looked like when her seal broke in the street, I drove by as it happened." My father offered from the other couch.

"Mother, was that your doing?" I looked at her as I asked, 'I swear if you did that to her I'll be very upset,' I thought.

It was Yuzu who spoke up, "Actually... I think I may have done that.." we all looked at her dumb-founded. "But how-" her mother started before Yuzu held up her hand. "I remember that night very clearly now, after seeing daddy dead on the ground I ran to my room, remember mama?" I watched her nod her head, "well before you came up to check on me, I was so upset I started to cry. I remember my room getting brighter and a band of blue entwining itself around me as I thought that I just wanted to forget what happened. Then just before you opened the door I felt like something got burned into my head and my heart got heavy. Although I forgot why I was upset I knew I had a reason. After that you-" she got cut off by her mother.

"After that I sealed your powers and we went into hiding. Why didn't I notice it before! Yuzu, do you remember how old you were?" I watched as Yuzu looked up at her mother, "I was 3 years old."

'Impressive,' I thought directing it towards her, she turned her attention to me and smiled. "So all this time you had two seals blocking not just your memory, but power. I should have noticed the first one when I was sealing your powers." Ume beamed with amazement.

"Well.. mamma.. I don't think I had just two."
