It All Came Back

*Yuzu- after black out*

I felt dizzy, I look up and all I saw was my mother and step father. 'Wasn't I running?' I questioned myself. I felt faint, "Mamma?" My vision went black again. I distantly heard "YUZU!" Before I fell to the floor.

*One hour later*

I feel myself waking up, but I feel so exhausted I keep my eyes closed hoping for more sleep, distant voices drift towards my ears and I can't help but listen.

"She's stable for now, but we won't know for sure unless she wakes up." My mother was talking to.. who? It was just us here now. How did I get here? Where is here? I decide to listen more.

"I hope she's okay... this is my fault, I shouldn't have left. I should have been here for them, my father wouldn't have had the chance to-" 'papa? When did he get here?' "No Shō don't, she clearly doesn't remember anything yet.. she was doing her job, she acted as her protector. That's why we are here, you know that, you sought me out specifically. I didn't think it would happen so soon but obviously she has more power than her father or I could read when she was younger.." my mother paused and took an unsteady breath. "I mean by rights.. she should have died, that much power.. she was dead Shō, I checked myself, even I couldn't heal her, Mei-" My mother sobbed and I opened my eyes, 'Mei!'

Everything came rushing back I just laid there watching it run through my mind like a movie, I was walking to cool down after pushing myself on my run again, and I passed an alley. I heard a scream and went to check, four guys were surrounding someone who was on the ground, I yelled to them and then turned to face me, exposing her. Their victim was Mei, she was bleeding from her chest and her arm, I felt rage bubble up within me and the urge to protect her. I remember the alley getting brighter, 'was I glowing?' I questioned the scenes playing out before me.

I don't remember how but I seemed to move at the speed of light and within seconds three of the four were on the ground unconscious. Turning to the last one I felt a presence behind me, but it seemed familiar and non-threatening, so I continued to focus on the taller and bigger of the four.

I saw the knife in his hands and looked at Mei again, 'so you did this huh?' I remember thinking before dashing forward, I didn't know how I did it but I spun and within milliseconds, his knife flew behind me and he was on the ground with the rest of them.

I walked forwards again and knelt down to pick up the girl who still owned my heart completely. 'Mei' I thought looking to her beaten and bleeding. I turned around and saw my step father, "Yuzu.." I was looking at him but wasn't really seeing him. I knew he was there and he was speaking to me but I didn't- no couldn't answer. I could only focus on her.

"You left me once don't do it again." I looked at her while saying, over and over, my step father stepped closer, I assume to hear me. 'She's running out of time.. I need mamma' stepping forward I took off reaching my apartment in seconds. I kicked open the door and saw my mom, I slightly heard her speaking to me.

"Yuzu sweetie what happened?" I looked at Mei and started talking to her again. "Don't leave me, don't leave me." 'She needed help and deserves to be comfortable, so I ran to our room as my mom said, " To the room, Quick!" I was cradling her her in my arms on the bed before she even finished speaking.
