I'm Coming Home

I am so tired after work my lord, I went for a nap, but then I heard the house phone ring, I didn't make it in time to answer it. So I waited hoping they would call back. My cell phone went off in my pocket, 'Maybe it's Yuzu' I look at the number but I don't know who it is. I answer anyway, "Hello this is the Aihara residence, Ume speaking,"

From the other end of the line I hear, "H-Hello mother... it's Mei," I damn near dropped my phone, "MEI!! My girl how are you? We miss you a lot here you know! I don't think Yuzu has slept well since you left, she keeps complaining about being cold."

"I uh.. I'm fairly good actually.. I was wondering if I could come speak to you and Y-Yuzu about some things." 'About her wedding maybe?' I thought to myself, "You don't need to ask to come over darling!Yuzu is out right now but you're more than welcome to come over and wait! Mama is lonely anyway, so I wouldn't mind having a little catch up before we get to whatever it is you want to talk about."

I heard her pause and then say, "Yuzu is out? Where is she? I thought her friends were all busy?"

'She sounds so concerned' I can't help but smile to myself. "Well yes dear they are, but she's recently taken up running as a hobby."

"Well.. before I get there I also wanted.. Well I should tell you, I am coming home, I'll explain everything later." She said sounding excited.

"Of course dear, we were sad you left in the first place, come, stay the nightmare we can move you back in later."

"Of course mother.. I'll come over now, I'm just at a restaurant with grandfather, we are about to leave so I'll just walk over.. Goodbye mother, see you soon."

I smiled again, "See you soon."

*Back At The Restaurant-Mei*

"Goodbye mother, see you soon." Hanging up the phone I thanked Udagawa again for the use of his phone, then turned to my grandfather. "I will be walking to the apartment, it's nice out and I'd like some fresh air to process all of this." He looked at me and nodded, "whatever you need, Mei. But it is getting late, call the house and let them know when you get there, and tell them to let me know right away." Grandfather looked sincere so I nodded again, and said "Of course grandfather."

Saying my goodbyes I left the restaurant and headed towards home.. towards her, I quicken my pace, excited to have this news to share with her.

But.. wait.. what if.. what if she doesn't want me anymore? I question myself and slow my pace suddenly sad at the thought of her not wanting me anymore. Of her not being able to forgive me. 'Damn it.. am I too late?'

It was dark out now, there were drunk people walking all over the streets. I notice a group of four very drunk guys across the street, I glanced at them and they were all looking at me and pointing. 'I better get going, mother expects me soon.' I think to myself.

My mind is so distracted by Yuzu that I didn't notice the group of four cross the street and start following me. It wasn't until I heard them right behind me and I could hear voices I didn't recognize talking about me that I clued into what was happening.

"That's definitely her, that's the Aihara girl we've been looking for boys!" 'This can't be good, I have to hurry' I speed up once more.

"Where you going sweetness? Come have a chat with us, we won't bite, I promise." The other three laugh to themselves. Another one says quietly "speak for yourself, I want revenge for what her family did to our pack. My parents.." he trailed off his sentence as another cut him off, "shut up, she will hear you." 'Ahh shit shit shit' I break out into a run, "GET HER!" They ran after me.

'Oh god what am I gunna do, someone help' my thoughts are racing, my heart feels like it's going to give out and my lungs feel like they're on fire. Then I feel an arm around my waist and I get dragged into an alley and pushed to the ground. "Ouch." I say out loud.

I look to the group and keep my expression stone faced, "I don't know who you think I am but I'm sure I've never met you, or your families before, now if you don't mind, my mother and sister are waiting for me." I half lied to them while starting to stand. I got kicked in the chest and fell back, I tried to stand again even though my chest hurts a lot from getting kicked.

"Oh you don't know us, but we know you and your family, see sweet cheeks, your family and outlets have a long history, and we want revenge for the wrong doing your family has brought upon us, and since your family is all with their protectors, you unfortunately are our target." The taller of the four said. He started coming closer to me and ripped the top buttons or my shirt open, pulling out a knife he looked into my eyes and smirked.

"This is going to be a long painful night for you. But feel free to scream for us." 'Like hell I will.' I refuse to give him the satisfaction. I had yet to give into my fears, I was doing well, until he dragged the knife across my collar bone, it hurt. I winced once, "looks like we have a tough one boys, let's see how well she can do with pain. What do you three say?"

They all cheered, 'someone.. help' I thought. The leader grabbed my arm and ripped the sleeve off of my shirt, the other three crowded around starting to blocking my view of the street. I looked out one last time to the street to see someone with blond hair walking past, 'I must be hallucinating again.. she wouldn't be out here still.'

He sliced my arm a few times before I finally caved and screamed, "AHHHHH." Everything was going black, but I still faintly heard someone say "Hey you four! Just what do you think you're doing?" I looked up with my dimming vision, 'an angel.. she looks.. she's beautiful' I saw her eyes fill with fury and her face contort into pure rage, she started walking towards us.

I blacked out.
