Mei

I woke up the next morning and rolled over, the bed was empty. 'Where..' I sat up quickly, beginning my search for Yuzu. Ending up in the kitchen I saw a note

Gone for a run, see you soon xo Yuzu

'Okay she's just out running.. that shouldn't be too long, I wonder if I go get the ingredients if she will make me French toast' I thought to myself, of course I knew she would. She's always been willing to make stuff for me. My dad and Yuzus mom were already at work so I decided to go to the closest store. After the previous nights activities I didn't want to go anywhere too far without Yuzu.

Getting changed into jeans and a tee-shirt I head to the front door, making sure I have my wallet, keys and a bag to carry the food with I put on my shoes and head out. The walk there was nice, it was warm out so I passed the time by looking at the scenery. I saw birds and squirrels everywhere. 'Cute.' I thought.

Getting to the store I grab the required items and go to pay. The cashier was a pleasant person, our conversation was flowing with ease. I noted his name tag, 'christopher.. nice name.

"Out to buy some stuff for let me guess... French toast?" He smiled, he was odd looking for a cashier, covered in tattoos and his hair was ruffled. But he was nice so I engaged in the conversation. "Yes," I replied, "I'm hoping my girlfriend will make me some when she's done her run." He seemed to take an odd interest in that statement. "Ooh girlfriend eh? That sounds nice, I wish I had one, you must be one lucky duck to score a girl who cooks for you!"

'He seems overly enthusiastic.. reminds me of how Yuzu acts too.' I smiled at the thought, "you have no idea." I noted a half of a tattoo that I thought was interesting, "is that a wolf tattoo? It looks nice, when did you get it?" He slowly covered it up with the sleeve of his shirt, "oh a long time ago, I uh.. I have to hide as many as I can of my tattoos, you know, bosses and all wanting me to be more presentable and such." He chuckled nervously. After I finished paying I walked out the door. I suddenly had a weird feeling but I shook it off and started to walk home.

I was halfway back to the apartment before I had that feeling of being watched, I passed by shop windows and then noticed in the reflection I was being followed. 'Crap.. Not this again.' I walked faster. 'What am I gunna do! Why are they following me?' I kept my head down and hoped they would leave.

I glanced up, and saw a van with the windows blacked out up ahead, I knew I was in trouble. Again. Turning down a different street away from the van I chanced a look behind me and sure enough I saw two men following me, I had to do something. I had only one option and I didn't know if it would work, I called out to her. 'YUZU!! HELP PLEASE!' I waited but got nothing in response. Looking around I noted that I was running out of places to go, I turned down an alley, 'oh no.. a dead end!' I had to move quickly, I left the alley and the men were closer to me now, I tried one last time, 'Yuzu!! Please! I need you!'

"Well hello there beautiful, need a hand with your bags?" One of the two asked, "oh no I'm fine, just got a little off track, I'll be leaving now." They slowly approached me, "you sure? They look heavy, we don't want you to hurt yourself now." They distracted me, I didn't notice the van pull up behind me until I heard the doors open. I had only one thought, I ran. I tried one last time, 'YUZU!!' This time I also pushed an image of where I was to her, 'please have seen this, why didn't we test how far this connection thing works, damn it!'

I heard the running of footsteps and the car behind me, I didn't look back. 'This CAN NOT be happening to me again, in less than 24 hours.' I pushed myself even though it was getting harder to breathe. I heard a car crash behind me but kept going.
