Ooh lord sorry that was really long.. had to cut it up!! *bows* please enjoy!

My eyes snapped up, my heart rate increased, "I'm sorry.. what was that?"

My grandfather spoke first, "I told you Mei.. we have much to discuss.. first thing being, yes, the wedding is off."

My jaw dropped and I covered my mouth. Udagawa spoke, "I have two reasons for this, the first, is my family has gotten into a tight spot with some of the wrong people, and I don't want to tarnish your name sake and reputation," he finished his sentence and looked first to me then my grandfather.

"The second being-" he got cut off by grandfather, "now I told you, I haven't decided this yet, that situation to me is new and very... unconventional."

'What is he talking about' I thought.

Our food showed up and we started eating.

Upon finishing our food, Udagawa spoke up again, "continuing our conversation, it is no more unconventional than marrying her off to someone quite older just to get the academy, we both agreed one that earlier." He was looking at grandfather he paused a moment to stare him down. 'This is.. interesting' Udagawa continued, "we also agreed she could do it herself without help as she did when you were sick. She doesn't need someone to tell her what to do, she needs love. Support. And I can't give her that, she's a nice girl but.. after my parents got into that trouble I realized I just wanted to do what makes me happy and this isn't it. She deserves the same. Don't you want that for her?"

My grandfather looked down, "of course I do... but that situation.. I don't know.." their voices trailed off for me.

'love and support huh? Yeah, not gonna happen for me, sorry grandfather. My happiness hates me now..'

I lost interest in the conversation and started thinking about that person.. 'Yuzu..' she lost herself in her thoughts of her step sister, and true love.

Minutes passed before I heard "Mei? Are you listening? That's not the reaction o would think you'd have to this." Udagawa spoke to her calmly. I shook myself, "I'm sorry, what did you say?" He looked shocked, "how long did you zone out for? Did you not hear your grandfather?" He smiled at me, "I'm sorry grandfather, what was it you said?"

He took a second to answer, "before I decide fully, I need to know something Mei. Tell me, what was it you we're thinking of just now? And please, be 100% honest."

I stopped to stare at him momentarily, 'I've never seen him look like that before' he spoke again, "please Mei I won't be mad or upset I promise.. I just want my grand daughter back, you were so different a month ago, I've noticed a change so please.. tell me."

I just nodded, "I was thinking about.. well.. Yuzu, I know it's wrong but.. she's what makes me happy grandfather, but I know I have to marry whomever you choose for me to take over the academy, so I accepted the fact I can't be with her long ago, I just want to make you happy and proud of me."

I looked at him with no expression on my face, he just shook his head. "I'm sorry for being a disappointment," I stood up and bowed to him hoping he will forgive me, and I stayed like that until he stood up and placed his hand on my shoulder.

"No Mei, I'm sorry for making you so unhappy, I just wanted what's best for you but it seems as though you've already found it on your own, so please, forgive me." My eyes grew wide with shock as my grandfather bowed so low, his head was below the height of my arms, "Grandfather! Please.. stand up. I-I forgive you of course, you were just trying to watch out for me."

He stood up and smiled, 'I've never seen that before either,' "So, now that that is settled, Mei, I think you should go see Yuzu, that is another big conversation you will need to have."

"There isn't a rush grandfather, I know she will be at home, she doesn't go anywhere unless she's going out with friends and all of hers have been busy with club activities and such. However.. I should call mother and let her know I need to come by and speak to her and Yuzu. I don't want to show up uninvited."

He nodded at me, "Of course you are right, we should wrap this up and head home to call then, I'll make sure you get there safely, our driver will take you there and wait to see what happens."

Udagawa spoke up, "pardon the interruption, but why not just use this?" He pulled out his cellphone, "it would be much quicker to go straight from here, and I feel I owe you for this whole situation.. and Yuzu too, this can't have been easy to learn about us the way she did. You know the house number right? Here Mei, please I insist."

I nodded and took the phone, "thank you udagawa san." I dialled the house phone, nothing. No answer. So I called mother, she answered after a few rings, "Hello Ume Aihara speaking."

"H-hello mother.. it's Mei.."
