Sunbeams slipped through the curtains, forcing you awake as you groaned in complaint.

After several minutes of trying to ignore the brightness of your room, you finally get up. You glared at the thin curtains and made a note to buy blackout ones later.

You slipped out of bed, stretching widely before grabbing a set of clothes and heading into the bathroom.

You decided to take another shower, even though you had taken one not even twelve hours ago. It had been seven days since you had been allowed the luxury of hot running water, of course you were going to take advantage of it.

After drying your hair by aggressively wringing it with a towel, you got dressed and made your bed.

Shuffling into the living room, you glanced at the folders on the sofa, plopping down beside them.

You remembered that you had three tasks you wanted to complete before you would meet Lady Tsunade again in her office:
Find food, buy more clothes, and visit the adjacent flower shop.

You picked up the folder the Hokage had said would help you navigate Konoha better and began to investigate its contents.
Inside was a map of Konoha, a list of basic laws, and customs.

Some of the rules were as followed:
- No fighting is allowed within the village walls.
- No visitors are allowed in the village without permission from the administration.
The last rule that caught your eye was:
- Failure to follow these rules will result in an arrest by the Anbu.

You had heard about the Anbu before, a secretive group that worked for the village. They were highly skilled and dangerous. No one ever knew who could be working within the organization.

You decided to take the map with you, folding it within your back pocket.

Walking into your bedroom, you put your favorite cloak back on, pulling the hood low over your face.

Small weights had been sewn into the seams of the hood, making sure gusts of wind wouldn't blow it right off.

You took your coin purse and apartment key as well, locking the door behind you as you exited the building.

You wondered where you should head first, but your stomach quickly decided for you, rumbling loud enough to make a few passerby glance at you.

You smiled embarrassingly, pulling out the map to look for a restaurant or store nearby.

You almost considered going to a small shop called Ichiraku Ramen, but you decided to head to the nearby corner-store to buy enough cheap food to last a week.

You walked into the store and began filling a basket with rice, instant-ramen, eggs, milk, cereal, apples, tofu, spices, and broccoli.

After paying for the food, you left the store, sitting on the curb as you ate a couple of the apples.

Your stomach still rumbled afterwards, so you decided that you would make a cup of ramen when you got home.

But first, you had to find some clothes.
Once again, you scanned your map, finding that a clothing store was just a few blocks away.

As you walked toward it, you enjoyed walking through the upbeat atmosphere the village gave off.

Children played in the streets, adults greeted everyone like they were friends, the sun shone brightly down on them all.

In the Land of Shadows, there always seemed to be an overcast, the people gloomy and negative. Being in a new village was a nice change, travel not being a very common practice by the people of Shadows.
