You casually stood between Fuyu and Sho, your arms crossed and lips pulled into a smile. "I was beginning to wonder where you were. Had me worried there for a second, auntie."

Your aunt didn't move. "Hawk was taking too long so I was sent to check on things."

You chuckled. "And how is the Fox doing? Still a big fat b*tch?"

"You made a mistake coming here." Fuyu took a step forward and her blades glinted. You glanced at them and stopped short at their familiarity. Your aunt noticed your gaze and held the daggers up. "Recognize these?"

Both weapons had sharp blades, but the hilts were mirror opposites. One had a black handle with gold curling around it like a vine. Your mother's. The other was adorned in silver.

"They're from your grandmother." Fuyu explained. "Taiyo and Tsuki. Sun and moon. Two halves of a whole."

"Quite a pretty pair." You mused.

"When my mother died, she passed her daggers on to Sana and I. My sister wielded the Sun and I the Moon." She looked at the blades in her hands. "Alone they are strong. Together they are dangerous."

"So... you're going to kill me with them? Or is this just a family history lesson?"

Fuyu chuckled. "I won't kill you. But I'll do whatever it takes to bring you down." She twirled the blades deftly and attacked.

You barely had enough time to dodge as Tsuki plunged for your leg. You jumped out of the way, bringing two kunai up just as Taiyo came sailing down. It became a battle of strength as you struggled to keep Fuyu's blade from coming closer.

But it seemed your aunt was a better fighter than you thought as she used your strength against you, suddenly stepping away. You lost balance for a split second and it was all it took for her to kick in the back of your knees, drag your arms behind your back, and pin you into a kneeling position from behind.

You struggled against Fuyu's grip but she held firm. You growled as she leaned in toward your ear.

"Listen very carefully to me, (Y/N)."

You paused in confusion.

Fuyu spoke fast and breathlessly. "Sho is Fox's puppet, not mine. I was tasked with using him but I know he reports to her. She did something to him, something that has turned him into a mindless pawn."

"He doesn't look mindless to me." You whispered back as you stared at his form on the ground. He was tightening the bandages you had given him and trying to stand up.

"That's the whole point. I didn't know he was her spy until I followed him one night. He reports everything to her." She tightened her grip. "Keep looking like your struggling."

In response you snarled at her. "Get off me!"

Fuyu continued. "I need you to get out of here alive. I assume you have the journal?"

You opened your mouth to question but she interrupted.

"You can't be taken in right now. Fox is on edge after that last stunt you pulled. She's out for your blood."

You frowned. "What stunt?"

Fuyu paused. "You don't know?" She shifted. "Of course not. Only one person has done it before."

"What and who?" You asked in confusion.

Sho staggered to his feet and Fuyu tensed up.

"You'll find it in the journal. Now head butt me."

You whipped your head back, colliding with your aunt's forehead. She cried out in pain, loosening her grip just enough for you to break free. As she cradled her head, you kicked one of her wrists and your mother's blade fell to the ground.
