"Pssst. Wake up, love."
You groaned in complaint, turning onto your other side.
A warm hand caressed your cheek, waking you out of your slumber.
"What...?" You groaned out.
"It's time to wake up, baby. We have a mission today."
You squinted an eye open to find Kakashi leaning over you. Luckily, you still had your hoodie on the from the night before.
Shaking your head in refusal, you pulled a pillow over your head. "Five more minutes..."
A moment of silence passed and you thought that the silver haired man would actually let you sleep in. Then the blankets were ripped off of you and the curtains drawn to reveal the early light of dawn.
You gave up trying to sleep, sitting up grumpily. "Dammit, I'm up Kashi."
The man was leaning against the edge of the bed, shaking his head in amusement. "Well just get up, okay? At this rate, we'll be late." Before you could protest, he left the room, heading into the kitchen.
You slid out of bed, grabbing your Jonin outfit and cloak. Heading into the bathroom, you took a quick shower and brushed your hair and teeth, entering the main room fully clothed.
Kakashi was seated on the sofa, a cup of coffee in both of his hands. "Here you go." He smiled as he handed you one of the mugs. You plopped down beside him.
"Thanks." You replied, sipping the dark liquid thoughtfully. Kakashi hummed in response, doing the same.
His mask was still off, he hadn't worn it since yesterday when he had first entered your apartment. You blushed brightly, recalling everything you two had done together since then.
"What are you thinking about?" Kakashi asked. He smirked at the brightness of your cheeks.
You avoided eye contact. "Oh, not much... we should get going. Wouldn't want to be late for our mission, right?" You coughed unconvincingly, narrowly avoiding his question.
The man analyzed you for a moment, then shrugged. He stood up and plucked the cup right out of your hands, taking it into the kitchen.
You geared up, strapping on sheaths and packing a bag. You stared down at the dagger in your hands for a moment, recalling all of the painful memories surrounding it.
Kakashi walked up behind you, wrapping his arms around your waist. "What are you looking at- oh." He stared down at the blade with a sad expression. "Was that the one you used to...?" He whispered gently.
You nodded, remembering the feeling of that very blade sliding through Haru's stomach. "The one, the only."
"If it's caused you so much pain, then why keep it with you all these years?"
You shrugged, running a finger over the small engravings on the hilt. A set of initials and the Land of Shadow's insignia. "To remember. I can't forget what I did to Haru. This dagger reminds me of all of my sins, a reason why I must continue my path to save my people. Besides, it's the only thing I have left of my parents."
Kakashi wordlessly spun you around, pulling you into a warm hug. "I'm so sorry." He said quietly.
Your eyes widened in surprise before you smiled gratefully. "Thank you, Kashi." You wrapped your arms around him, snuggling into his chest.
A moment later, you pulled away, regaining your composure. "We should go now. The others are waiting for us."
Kakashi cleared his throat, nodding in agreement. "Alright then."
