"You... choked on... a noodle... because you realized... Kakashi isn't an old man???" You wheezed out.
The pink haired girl narrowed her eyes, her face turning crimson red.
"N-no! I just... forgot to swallow!" She waved her hands around, clearly flustered.
You shook your head, not believing a word she said. "Yeah right! You totally went into shock when I said his age!"
You grinned from ear to ear, Naruto trying to hold back a fit of laughter too.
Sasuke kept staring at the wall, but you could tell he was trying to hold back a chuckle. Before you knew it, he had cracked a smile.
"See! Even Emo Boi thinks this is funny! Don't deny it Sakura, you almost died because you realized that your teacher isn't senile. But then again he might be."
"I'm not senile!" Kakashi retorted. You scoffed at him.
"Yeah, that's what you think."
"(Y/N), I swear to-"
"Anyways! I think I should pay for this meal now! It was lovely hanging out with you guys, but I gotta go organize my apartment. See ya!"
You quickly set a handful of money on the ramen shop counter, right in front of the shop owner's daughter.
You raised your hood up slightly, revealing your eyes.
She stared at you in shock. Then you smirked. "Keep the change." You winked at her before pulling the hood back down and stalking off.
As you walked away from the shop, you glanced back. The owner's daughter was leaning against the counter with hearts for eyes as she stared after you.
I just turned that girl gay.
You chuckled to yourself as you slipped into the shadows, disappearing from Team 7's line of view.
"Mrs. Hatake! You forgot to take your hubbie with you!" Naruto called after you teasingly.
You shook your head, smiling to yourself.u
*~*
It had been a week since you started training with Team Seven. Kakashi had allowed you to take charge several times, getting a feel for how assertive you could be. Naruto was a handful, but Sakura and Sasuke always did what you said.
Every morning and evening, you trained with Sakura. For the past seven days, you had been trying to build up her strength and endurance. She had been improving physically, although she had breakdowns twice a day which resulted in you allowing her five minute breaks to pull herself together.
Even so, she probably started to note her own improvement, not complaining once about the brutal obstacle courses and runs.
You were satisfied with her progress, but you knew you had to push her harder. If she wanted to become a stronger kunoichi within the next six months, she had a lot more work to do.
Today, Lady Tsunade had called your team to her office for your first mission. You stood next to Kakashi, both of you behind your students as you listened intently to the Hokage.
"Now I know it's only been a week since (Y/N) has joined your team, but I believe it's time you go on your first mission." The woman leaned her elbows on the desk, fingers laced.
"I have tasked you with a C-Rank mission. You five are to escort the Lady Akiko back to her home in the Land of Tea. Remember, you must protect her at all costs." The Hokage gave Naruto a pointed look.
