Chapter 23: Moonlight

My new but not really new phone vibrates as it alarms, it rings in a low volume but loud enough for me to wake up. I set it up fifteen minutes before 4 o'clock.

I slowly get out from the pull out bed, carefully not to wake my roommates up especially Jiwon who's on the bunk bed beside me. I tiptoed as I pass through the room's door and quietly enter the bathroom.

I quickly wash my face and brush my teeth but careful enough not to make any noise. My fingers run through my hair, fixing it as I forgot to bring a comb with me.

The light from my phone serves as my guide out of the dorm. When I successfully escape from the door, a relief sigh came out from my chest.

"Good morning." JB flinched on his seat as I greeted him. He was seated on the staircase with his head resting on the railings of the stairs when I opened the door on the fire exit.

"Good morning", he pulled out his usual sweet smile. "How's your first night?"

"I had a good sleep although I'm still not used with my pull out bed and with my new roommates."

"I mean, the first night of being my girlfriend?"

I feel a sudden flame pass through my cheeks as I heard the word, girlfriend. I'm still not used being labeled as such. Actually, the idea of us being officially together didn't sink in to me yet.

"Well." I tried to find the right words but I couldn't. "I slept with a widest smile on my face."

He chuckled but I can also see him blush a little. I didn't know he's capable of that.

"I wasn't able to sleep last night.. ", he averted his eyes on the wall beside me, avoiding an eye contact. "I keep on thinking of you."

His pinkish cheeks are now turned into red making the butterflies inside my stomach sway a little more.

"That's bad then, you might never get sleep ever again" I joked.

"I am thinking the same" sarcasm filled his voice followed by a playful smile.

He suddenly grabbed my hand and drag me down the stairs, "Let's have a walk."

We came down from the 6th floor using the stairs from the fire exit. We are actually hitting two birds with one stone – we can avoid bumping into someone, although it was still early, and we can spend the time together a little longer.

"Did you tell got7 yet? About us?", I asked him.

"Not yet. But I'll definitely will."

"No pressure, JB. I'm not forcing you."

"I know. I really wanted to tell them myself. I don't want to hide something again to them, especially now that we we're already close and was like a family."

I nodded in agreement. "What if they don't approve?" I asked, a bit concern.

"I doubt it. They like you too, you know that."

"I know. They always make me feel that I belong and I'm very thankful for that. But I'm afraid they will not approve me as your girlfriend. Or will not allow you to, in the first place." I paused for a moment, thinking if it's good to mention Riah but I did."You know, your relationship with Riah didn't go well and it affects the whole group."

JB didn't response for a moment but after gathering his thoughts he finally speak up. "It will not affect the group if they will not say anything. It is something that must stay within us so hiding our relationship wouldn't be that hard."
