They Call Me Emo Girl

Chapter 1: Skipping School

Some people call me 'Goth Chick' or 'Cutter'. The most common name that they use is 'Emo Girl'. It's almost like they've completely forgotten what my name actually was and started using that one.

My real name is Ryder. I know, way cooler than Emo Girl. I'm 17 and I have black hair and blue eyes. My lip is pierced on the bottom left side and I have a couple of tattoos on my arms. For those things and for the type of music I listen to almost everyone in my school bullies me.

But I would like to think it's all because they have no other way of dealing with those who are different than them other than to try and destroy it. I hate it here and I just want this year to be over so I can leave and never see any of their faces again.

School wouldn't be so bad if my only friend didn't graduate 2 years ago. My best friend Aspen and I met when I found him bleeding on the street. He was 17 and I was only 15. I took him back to my house and my mom helped clean him up. After that I couldn't get rid of him, not that I wanted to or anything.

Aspen is almost 20 now and he works for a construction company. Now before you ask, no, Aspen doesn't have the same style as me. He has dark brown hair that he usually styles in a faux hawk type thing and hazel eyes. He's only a few inches taller than me at 6'0 and let me tell you, he is fit.

Not that I'm crushing on him or anything, but he is really built now. Ok maybe I am. When I first met him he was strong but now he's really strong. Probably from all the physical crap he does at work.

"Ryder honey, you need to get up and get ready for school."

I groaned as my mom pulled my blankets off me. I swear those things are always more comfy when they're about to be pulled off of you. I sighed as I rolled out of bed and went to my closet. My mom doesn't know about anything that happens at school.

I picked out a pair of black skinny jeans and a Nirvana T-shirt. I pulled them on over my underwear and headed to the bathroom to brush my teeth, do my hair and makeup. Once I was done I grabbed my bag and reluctantly headed to the door to put on my black combat boots.

I shouted a goodbye to my mom as I put my headphones in and walked out the door. I lightly head banged as I played the song 'Wretched and Devine' by Black Veil Brides. I smiled as the familiar music blasted in my ears. I loved my music and so did Aspen.

Speak of the devil. Aspen pulled up in his black Jeep Wrangler and smiled at me. It was always impossible not to smile back at him. He would make a face at you until you did.

"Would you like a ride?"

"I'm sorry but my mom told me to never get in the car with creepy looking men."

"Haha very funny, now get your ass in."

I chuckled as I got in the passenger seat and he began to drive. I took out my music and turned to face him.

"Don't you have work today?"

"Nope! That is why I picked your bum ass up, I'm kid napping you."

"You want me to skip school to hang out with you just because you have the day off?"

"Well when you put it like that....then yes that's exactly what I want."

He grinned at me as we drove past my school. I couldn't help but chuckle and shake my head, he was so weird sometimes.

"So what are we gonna do today?"

"I want to show you something."
